These bars are the best of both worlds … apple pie and cookies with no utensils required! Hi Stella – I stored them in an airtight container and did not refrigerate them, but they were only around for 2 days at our house. That recipe sounded awesome right from the start but I loved it even more when I saw the ingredient list!!

I know a few folks on Pinterest mentioned they used homemade apple pie filling, but didn’t provide any details.

Blogger and pie expert Jocelyn Delk Adams shows us how to freeze and bake an apple pie so you can have one ready when you need it.


To get started, place one pie crust in a disposable or metal pie plate (don’t use glass).
In a large bowl, gently mix the filling ingredients (sliced apples, cinnamon, sugar, salt, lemon juice, flour and nutmeg); spoon into crust-lined pie plate. Next, place your pie in a gallon-size freezer plastic bag and label it with the following information: Apple Pie and expiration date of pie, which is two months after pie is frozen. Jocelyn wants to help a new generation of bakers to "not feel guilty about enjoying dessert," and spends her time whipping up old classics, new favorites and must-try trend desserts in an easy, accessible way.

The tops were really crispy, so I pulled them out, but the cookie didn’t seem to really cook. I doubled the recipe and made in a 13×9 pan also drizzled with some powder sugar glaze. For a better experience, we recommend upgrading to the latest version of IE, Google Chrome, Firefox or Safari. When the oven is preheated, remove your frozen pie from the freezer; cut a few slits in the top crust and place it in oven.


Continue to bake for an additional 40-50 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the apples inside are hot and soft when pricked with a fork. Someone posted one of your recipes on Facebook and didn’t give you credit or copy your URL with the recipe.
