The program focuses on the development of leadership and management skills as directly related to engineering roles. Six online master’s degree programs are available, including biomedical engineering, civil engineering, electrical and computer engineering, engineering management, mechanical engineering, and systems engineering.
The program is for all types of engineers, including electrical, mechanical, or systems, wanting to move into areas of leadership. The program is fully accredited by the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Mississippi State offers an accredited online master’s in engineering degree program.
While the students earn a master’s in engineering (M Eng), several special topic courses are available depending on interest.
While core classes are required, 15 credit hours may be taken from one engineering specialty like management or software engineering. Students receive training and advanced skills that prepare them for careers in managing organizations, processes, and systems. Civil engineering is one of the oldest forms of engineering, and beyond being an incredibly worthy pursuit for any individual, these engineers keep economies running and expanding. The Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts a job outlook with a 20% rise in the next ten years, with a median pay of about $80,000 per year.
This program is intended for practicing engineers who may access courses through distance education.
Once the evaluation is completed and the program plan is approved, students begin their masters degree. Students with five or more years of experience in a engineering profession are eligible for a more relaxed course load, which is assessed at a case-by-case basis. He began college in 1961 in southern California (at San Bernardino Valley College), taking undergraduate courses including: geology, chemistry, engineering drawing, etc. He has gained a wide range of interdisciplinary experience in business (mergers and acquisitions) and technical management in the environmental (regulatory, geological and hydrogeological), mining, and financial fields spanning almost 40 years. Conducted graduate research on paleoenvironmental and diagenetic processes under fluvial-deltaic conditions. Campbell was responsible for mineral prospect generation (with emphasis on uranium and other strata-bound mineralization) and for field reconnaissance, mapping, sampling, drilling site operations, recommendations for land acquisition and project budgeting and execution.
Campbell was responsible for conducting, coordinating, and implementing prospect evaluations, mapping and sampling programs, well-site operations, and ground-water supply programs in various parts of Australia, Micronesia (Caroline Islands) and the South Pacific (Coral Sea) for: phosphate, potash, sulfur, coal, base metals, and uranium. He served as a Visiting Lecturer, University of Queensland, in Townsville (replaced later as James Cook University) lecturing on the principles of hydrogeology. Campbell was appointed as United Nations Technical Expert to review overseas ground-water programs for the period: 1976 to 1981. Fulton School of Engineering offers this flexible degree that allows students to learn in the comfort of their own home, while receiving the same quality curriculum delivered on campus. Required courses include advanced engineering economy, advanced engineering project management, logistics engineering, quality engineering, and total quality management.
Students may choose from 14 engineering master’s degrees, including aerospace, civil, computer, electrical, engineering management, environmental, geotechnics, manufacturing, mechanical, mining, systems, or technical communication. Required courses include engineering management policy and strategies, management of technological change, principles of engineering management, and technology and finance. The program has also received accreditation from the Accreditation Board for Engineering Technology. All programs are offered online and designed to equip students with advanced skills to help boost their careers as engineers.
Required courses include database information systems, engineering writing, foundations of engineering management, principles of Six Sigma, and statistics for engineering management. The school offers tuition discounts for military personnel who are admitted to an online engineering degree program. The program is one of the most affordable online master’s programs of its kind, as out-of-state residents receive the same tuition rate as in-state students. During the period, he also served as an invited technical expert and lecturer for UNESCO-sponsored water-supply projects conducted in many parts of the world.
Campbell lectured on RCRA and CERCLA and on hydrogeology and project management, and selects and managed all guest lecturers from industry, government and local universities. Campbell provided senior technical review, managerial direction, guidance, and leadership to the hydrogeologic and geologic staff throughout the company's 22 offices in the US. Campbell provided senior technical direction, guidance, leadership and motivation to the hydrogeologic staff for the company's 52 offices in the US and overseas on hazardous waste projects including UST, landfill, water supply, dewatering, and RCRA (Part B Permits) and CERCLA (Property Environmental Assessments: Stage I and II projects, and Superfund investigations and representations), including litigation support and expert witness testimony.
He also served on the expert's committee of the United Nations' ground water exploration and development program from 1978 to 1983. He also conducted research on the hydrochemistry of the Morton Ranch uranium geochemical cell and nature of mine dewatering and water-supply development in and around the deposit, including the nature of abandoned drill holes plugged with bentonite muds. Type of remediation approach varied from pump-and-treat to vapor extraction to in situ bioremediation systems, depending upon subsurface conditions. Of those, approximately 5% required some type of remedial activities which ultimately led to the design, construction operation and maintenance of remediation systems. Many of the degrees are specialized in areas such as early childhood, autism, behavior, speech and language, as well as cross categorical. Some of the programs hold specialized accreditation, and this moved many such programs to the head of our list. In order to receive a dual degree in both elementary education (grades 1-8) and special education (grades K-12), students enter the Masters and Arizona Certification (MAC) program. For those interested in scholarly research, the Master of Arts is best suited whereas the Master of Education is designed for practitioners. This Education Masters (EdM) in Special Education offers dual degree programs in two areas. The program requires no thesis or campus visits, and classes are delivered asynchronous, which means there is no set time for class meetings. Several other engineering master’s degrees are available for online study, including engineering management, modeling and simulation, and software engineering. Florida International is a nationally ranked institution, according to major publications like U.S.
Most of the online graduate programs are nationally ranked, and doctorate degrees are available on a case-by-case basis. Electives may include courses such as computer simulation, linear programming, lean Six Sigma, occupational safety engineering, or strategic market assessment.
Course offerings include engineering leadership and strategic change, managerial finance for engineers, and product life cycle management. All online engineering master’s programs are highly flexible and allow students to take time off from studies for work and life obligations. Required courses include computer networks, environmental regulations and permits, structural dynamics, and transportation soils engineering. Courses vary depending on the concentration area, but may include advanced project management, designed experimentation, or processing systems simulation. Campbell and a small support staff serve industry by providing technical consulting on RCRA, CERCLA and related waste management involving a range of contaminants such as BTEX, solvents, brine, etc., risk assessment projects, and water-supply projects in Texas, the US and overseas.
The course was later hosted by the Houston Engineering and Scientific Society (HESS) and by The Institute of Environmental Technology.
He was responsible for initiating, guiding and supporting marketing efforts in environmental and relevant geotechnical projects. Campbell was designated by Law Engineering's corporate management as the Corporate Consultant in Hydrogeology (Chief Hydrogeologist) for his outstanding contributions to the company (1990). He advanced the development of hydrochemistry and geochemistry as an aid to frontier uranium exploration and for developing models of mineralization in frontier exploration areas.
