Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho believes a good connection between the team and the fans will make the opposition fear Old Trafford again. However, Mourinho believes that it’s key that the fans and players build a relationship to make Old Trafford a fortress again. In Sir Alex Ferguson’s last season at Old Trafford, Manchester United managed to get 48 points from their home games. In the following campaign, with David Moyes in charge, the team lowered that mark to 30 points in their 19 home matches. 18-YEAR-OLD Manchester United striker James Wilson could not have enjoyed a better Premier League debut as he notched two goals as Manchester United beat Hull City 3-1 in their final home game of what has been a difficult season. The England youth international bagged a goal each side of half-time to put United into a two-nil lead. Wilson, who joined United at the age of just seven, made his debut for the Manchester United Under 18’s against Everton, at the age of just 15, scoring in the process. Often played above his age group, he was called up to England Schoolboys when still performing at Under-15 level. Although he has from time to time been used as a winger, he is at his most effective when leading the line as was seen against Hull.

He was a key component United’s run to the FA Youth Cup semi-final in 2012 as he scored a dramatic injury-time winner against Charlton Athletic in the quarter-final at Old Trafford as just a 16-year-old. Despite the fact he only made fifteen appearances that season, only three players managed to score more than the six strikes he did for the Under-18s that season and his potential was really starting to show.
This season, he has scored seven goals in just 9 appearances for the Under 21 side, as they’ve progressed to the final of the knockout stage, and has been part of the Manchester United squad for the UEFA Youth league. He has also been capped by England at Under 16 and Under 19 level, playing three times, scoring once for the more senior age group. The 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil has received no shortage of worldwide media attention, as can only be expected of the popular tourney in which the host country holds the record of the most World Cup victories at five in addition to being the only country to have appeared in every tournament since the World Cup started in 1930. There has been mention of his struggles with stuttering in the Latin American media, both recently and in his early career when he played in the Argentine league in his teenage years. Expreso, the Ecuadorian daily, ran the June 30th article “James conquered stuttering” (translation) conveyed to readers what Rodriguez has had to struggle with during his life: “He has the talent to easily control the ball, but few people know the speech problem that this star for AS Monaco had in his childhood. Commentators have called Rodriguez’ five goals and two assists in four games as being nothing short of amazing, especially for a 22 year-old in his first ever World Cup.
Rodriguez, received major coverage in the worldwide attention after his second goal against Uruguay, which was set up by his teammate Cuadrado. In the first game Colombia defeated Greece 3-0, as Rodriguez set up the first two goals and scored the third goal.
The fourth game against Uruguay saw the Colombian superstar score both goals, with one being incredibly spectacular, and then the other attracting attention when he made a point in front of the whole world to credit teammate Cuadrado with being responsible for the goal. James Rodriguez started his professional career in Argentina, playing three seasons with Banfield (2008-2010) before shifting in 2010 to play in Europe. In 2013 Porto sold Rodriguez, a seasoned veteran at age 21, to AC Monaco for an incredible $45 million euros, which was the second most expensive transfer in Portuguese history. While there has been widespread international media glorification of James Rodriguez after Colombia’s first four games, what is being called “the Rodriguez effect” can be seen on YouTube as his spectacular plays in the 2014 World Cup are all over that social media channel, not to mention the special “dance” that the Colombians players do in unison after a teammate scores a goal. Since Rodriguez was mentioned on the Stuttering Foundation’s Facebook page, 384,000 people read the posts in just the first couple of days. Kenyon Martin, the basketball sensation who was named to the NBA’s All Star Team in 2004, joins other famous people who stutter in a new brochure. The poster is intended to give children and adults who stutter inspiration as they grapple with their speech disorder. The recent Disney version of Lewis Carroll’s classic, Alice in Wonderland, garnered a great deal of media hype. While Bill Withers has long been on the Stuttering Foundation's list of Famous People Who Stutter, many people probably didn’t realize he stuttered. Wayne Rooney put in a solid display for Manchester United in their 1-1 draw with Leicester City on Sunday in the Premier League.
The Man United captain, featuring in his newly adopted midfield role, was an assured figure throughout the game. We saw that sort of attitude from Rooney at Wembley against Everton and there was one particular stand-out moment for me against Leicester as well. Rather, as United largely dominated proceedings, the skipper, alongside Michael Carrick, did well up against arguably the Premier League’s best midfield this season. Leo is a regular contributor to The Peoples Person's match day coverage and is still mourning the loss of Danny Welbeck to Arsenal. While last term, the Red Devils picked up 41 points – but only Leicester City had a better home record. Please refrain from insulting other users, everyone is entitled to their opinion and just because you shout the loudest, doesn't make you more correct or valid in your point of view. The previous encounter between the two sides was in Week 3 and resulted in a 23-23 draw with Louis Taylor, Sam Moncur and James Singleton crossing the whitewash for AK. These evocative pictures, many previously unpublished, bring to life the important events in United's history: the triumphs of the first trophies, the tragedy of the Munich disaster, the successes that followed. The breakout star of World Cup 2014 hands down has been Colombia’s sensation James Rodriguez, known affectionately as “James” (pronounced “HAHM-ez”). The prestigious Chilean daily La Tercera ran the July 29th article "James Rodriguez, the Colombian hero that overcame stuttering” (translation), which stated, “The soccer player, who was born in Cucuta 22 years ago, had to fight for several years against his stuttering that affected his youth.
Colombia has scored eleven goals in the first four games, and Rodriguez has been involved in seven of them.
Instead of reacting in joy, he ran over to Cuadrado and repeatedly pointed his finger at him and shouted “That was your goal. In Colombia’s second game, he scored a goal on a header and set up another in a 2 -1 win over Ivory Coast.
He starred for Porto in Portugal’s Primeira Liga for three seasons, and in 2012 was named the league’s best player, becoming the youngest player in history to receive the Portuguese Golden Ball award.
It is reported that Manchester United made a bid for Rodriguez for $30 million euros but it was rejected as being too low. On July 29, the Huffington Post published an article with accompanying videos titled, “Colombia Still Dancing at World Cup Because James Rodriguez Won’t Stop Scoring." The World Cup is far from over and people who stutter around the world, regardless of their favorite team in the tourney, will be watching and cheering on James Rodriguez.
It was shared nearly 550 times, liked by more than 1,790 people, and nearly 100 people commented. The brochure - which unfolds into a small poster - is available free of charge from The Stuttering Foundation.
Even though the mainstream media has not made mention that Carroll was a person who stuttered, his family history gives credence to the discovery of the genetic link to stuttering. When his father died when Withers was small, he was raised by his mother and grandmother, both of whom worked as domestics. Liverpool St Helens are currently 2nd in North One West 2 points behind Sale FC and will be looking to avenge their last league outing having lost 15-19 to promotion challengers Carlisle prior to the Xmas break.

Only 22 years old and in his first World Cup, some pro soccer commentators are mentioning Rodriguez’ performance in the same regard with Pele’s heroics in 1958 when — as an unknown 17 year old — the future superstar lead Brazil to its first World Cup. The aforementioned USA Today article put forth, “Rodriguez scores goals and provides assists, but he also dictates the play for Colombia, sets the attacking tone and gets his teammates to play the game he wants to play.
You made it happen” to let the whole world know that Cuadrado was really the one responsible for the goal on account of his brilliant assist. Carroll was born to parents who were first cousins; almost all of their eleven children, three girls and seven boys, struggled with stuttering past childhood. The way we play [will help] and if the fans play [a part] there’ll be no chance for the opponent,” he added.
Front row (L-R): John Curtis, Mikael Silvestre, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Quinton Fortune, Alex Ferguson, Roy Keane, Steve McClaren, Gary Neville, Michael Clegg, Denis Irwin, Paul Scholes. The June 30th issue of USA Today published a major article titled “7 Reasons James Rodriguez is the breakout star of the World Cup," which said “he’s been absolutely brilliant” and highlighted his Cup leading five goals and two assists in only four games.
His first goal against Uruguay was deemed by many observers to be “one of the greatest goals the World Cup has ever seen”.
However, what has not yet been widely covered in the international media is that James Rodriguez is a person who stutters.
