Manchester United are reported to be interested in an emerging Benfica star, while AC Milan apparently want to sign Branislav Ivanovic. Manchester United scouts have been watching Benfica starlet Renato Sanches – and have given Louis van Gaal a glowing report, according to reports in Portugal.
United representatives attended Benfica’s match against Vitoria on Saturday, in which Sanches scored the winner to make it two goals in six games for the first team this season. Sanches plays in central midfield, where United are well stocked, but Michael Carrick has only six months left on his contract at Old Trafford, while Bastian Schweinsteiger has been accused by Van Gaal of playing at half-speed. AC Milan want to sign Branislav Ivanovic from Chelsea this month, according to the Daily Mirror.
The Serbia defender, who turns 32 in February, is out of contract at the end of the season and is free to talk to overseas clubs about a summer move, but Milan apparently want to get him now ahead of any rival interest. The Mirror says Ivanovic is unlikely to be kept beyond this season as Chelsea prepare for a squad revamp, but whether Guus Hiddink would allow him to leave sooner remains to be seen. Reports suggest that teenage Feyenoord prodigy Tahith Chong is on the verge of agreeing terms with Manchester United, but who is he, what are his strengths, how does he play and what can fans expect from the club’s latest import from the Eredivisie? According to Manchester Evening News, the young winger is likely to confirm a deal to join the academy at Old Trafford after first impressing scouts at a youth tournament at their Carrington-based training ground last summer.
Born in Willemstad, the capital city of the Caribbean island nation of Curacao, Chong grew up in the Netherlands and has been a part of the Feyenoord youth set-up since the age of 10. To find out more about the 16-year-old, Squawka spoke to Mark Lievisse Adriaanse, who writes the blog Leven met Feyenoord, about what to expect from the Manchester-bound youngster.
When it comes to the player who Lievisse Adriaanse is reminded of the most when watching Chong, United fans may need to look beyond the current season to take heart from the comparison. Memphis left the Netherlands for Old Trafford in the summer as the most potent player in the Eredivisie. He’s still adapting to the faster, more physical challenge of British football, as well as his relegation back to being part of a team rather than the singular attacking focal point as he was at PSV, but his potential remains enormous. Last month, Manchester United fan channel Full-Time Devils spoke to Tony Park, author and historian of the club’s youth academy, who revealed that Chong was already in discussions over a deal and had trained with some of the other prospects already at Old Trafford. In February, Park and Full-Time Devils presenter Stephen Howson spoke to Squawka about the impact of Marcus Rashford up front for Louis van Gaal’s team this season, after the 19-year-old scored three goals in his first two senior starts against FC Midtjylland and Arsenal in the Europa League and Premier League respectively. Although the Dutchman has struggled to make the club competitive for trophies since his appointment in the summer of 2014, he’s been credited with giving debuts and regular playing time to academy players, as well as signing promising young footballers who could go on to be important players for United in the future. Given the struggles of Memphis to show his quality in England, can Chong be considered another new face who could make an instant impression at Old Trafford, or one for the future? This hoax attempts to dupe FIFA 16 players into thinking the Manchester United star has just been added into the game this week by developers EA.

You can see with the authentic looking image below, designed in the same style as an EA image which shows Rashford with a silver card and a 65 rating in the game. Unfortunately though, we can confirm that Marcus Rashford is still not in FIFA 16 Ultimate Team.
Did you see the same image circulating on the likes of Twitter this week and believed that Rashford had finally been added to the game? ARSENE WENGER has hit back at claims he has been forced to panic buy before the transfer window slams shut on Wednesday. MIKE PHELAN is forever being told he dodged a bullet when he was snubbed as a potential replacement to Sir Alex Ferguson - but he’s not so sure. The opening of the summer transfer window is fast approaching so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Manchester United have made an audacious approach to explore the possibility of signing Barcelona super star Lionel Messi in what would be a world record transfer, according to the Daily Mail. Messi has been with Barca his entire professional career having progressed through their La Masia youth academy following his arrival from his native Argentina as a youngster in 2001.
The 28-year-old has developed in to the best player on the planet, scoring an incredible 453 goals in 531 games to help Barca win a whole host of top honours including 8 La Liga titles and four Champions League trophies. However, the Daily Mail claim that Manchester United have made two enquiries over the past three weeks to assess the possibility of luring the South American super-star to Old Trafford at some point in the near future. The player was heckled as he entered the courtroom last week as the trial against him began with Messi accused of using fake companies in Belize and Uruguay to avoid paying tax on millions of pounds worth of earnings between 2007-2009 – something the player denies. United have been desperately trying to pull off a marquee signing in recent transfer windows with the likes of Neymar, Cristiano Ronaldo and Thomas Muller all strongly linked but signing Messi would eclipse them all.
Obviously this is all speculation at this point but it would be a sensational piece of business if United could somehow pull this off and they’d make millions back from endorsements, shirt sales and commercial deals if they managed to sign Messi. Manchester United Are the Old Trafford days of English football's record signing A?ngel Di MarAa drawing to a close before he even chalks up a year at Manchester United? PSV's Memphis Depay (Getty Images) Sporting's William Carvalho, who ranks behind only Paul Pogba as the moost coveted central midfielder in Europe at the moment, is finally ready to leave Lisbon and move to England, reports the Mail.
Manchester United Manchester United are ready to make a bid for Wesley Sneijder, the Galatasaray playmaker, ahead of rivals City and Southampton, according to the Express. Paul Pogba, the 21-year-old midfielder who left Old Trafford for Juventus for free in 2012, has been heavily linked with a return to Manchester United, as well as rivals Arsenal, Chelsea and City and is expected to make a bid in the region of A?77m next summer. Manchester United are determined to sign Chelsea target Antoine Griezmann this summer and are ready to match the ?63.1m figure written into his Atletico Madrid contract, according to the Express. Griezmann made his name at Real Sociedad but has developed in to one of the most dangerous attackers in world football since joining Atletico in the summer of 2014.
The 25-year-old scored the crucial away goal against Bayern Munich last night which saw Diego Simeone’s side progress to the final of the Champions League after the tie ended 2-2 on aggregate.

However, it looks as though the Blues are going to face stiff competition for his signature as the Express are citing reports coming out of Spain today that claim Manchester United are determined to sign Griezmann this summer. United clearly need to bring in another attacker this summer to help solve their goal-scoring problems and the Frenchman would certainly give the Red Devils a new threat in the final third if they were able to lure him to Old Trafford. However, new boss Antonio Conte is set to overhaul the Chelsea squad this summer after a disastrous campaign for the Blues and Griezmann is exactly the type of player the Italian tactician could build his new-look squad around next season.
Manchester City fans have pre-empted their club’s summer transfer activity and altered their Wikipedia page to include two big names within their roster for next season. Where does Chong rank among the other exciting talents coming up through the Dutch game at present? Please refrain from insulting other users, everyone is entitled to their opinion and just because you shout the loudest, doesn't make you more correct or valid in your point of view.
We spoke about this before last month but now we can see that there is a hoax currently spreading around on social media. It certainly seems to be the verdict of most newspaper transfer gossip columns on Sunday morning.

Picking up on Louis van Gaal's apparent exasperation with the Argentina winger and his own failure to settle in England, something that has been exacerbated by the burglary at his home, the Sunday Express leads the way by saying that United have seen enough and are willing to cash in. If they manage to pull it off, that could spell the end of Michael Carrick's decade at United.
Di Maria, too, has been so unnerved by the robbery that he has moved his family into a city centre flat rented from Phil Neville. AC Milan, kicking themselves for letting Andrea Pirlo go too early, are willing to give the Wallsend metronome a new home even if he will be 34 at the start of next season. With his future uncertain, United hope that Paris Saint-Germain's interest in the architect of Real Madrid's 10th European Cup final victory last summer will be rekindled.
Van Gaal gave PSV winger Memphis Depay his international debut, used him to great impact during the World Cup and there were rumours last summer that the player was desperate to join Van Gaal in the Premier League.
He was persuaded that another year at PSV would be better for his development but the time looks ripe for Depay to join his mentor this summer. The same goes for Chelsea's long-standing interest in Real Madrid's France centre-half RaphaA«l Varane who is now, according to the Star, firmly in United's sights.
The free transfer would represent a saving of A?43 million on Radamel Falcao, money that could be invested elsewhere.
