Florida State College at Jacksonville is biting into the multibillion-dollar food-testing market. A year after the Institute for Food Safety opened at its downtown campus, the college has launched a campaign for private donations and to gain state funding for a new three-story building. To help pay for the building, the Florida State College Foundation aims to raise $4 million in private donations. Officials said the institute puts Jacksonville at the forefront in training people for jobs in food-testing.
Food processors and manufacturers hire private testing companies to ensure products comply with food safety regulations and avoid damaging publicity from food-borne illnesses. FSCJ picked Eurofins, a global company with laboratories in 30 countries, as the corporate partner for the institute.

She said Eurofins will benefit by being able to hire graduates who have already worked in a laboratory. The college doesn't have a projected date for when construction of the new building will start. After a 2 year hiatus, Sunrise Flight Academy has re-opened this blog and will be updating it weekly.
