COMMENTEMAILMOREThe Transportation Security Administration will allow travelers to bring small knives, golf clubs and hockey sticks into airline cabins for the first time since 2001, TSA chief John Pistole announced Tuesday. The change, intended to conform with international rules, will take effect April 25. Check in regularly for "TSA Travel Tips" and our end of week "TSA Week in Review" posts on Fridays. Starting on April 25, 2013, people may carry small pocket knives in their carry-ons when travelling through United States airports.

Additionally, these knives cannot be of the locking or fixed-blade variety—think Swiss Army knife. Unfortunately, our knives aren’t quite small enough to sneak into your luggage, so remember to leave these tactical knives at home or pack them in  your checked bags. Leave those box cutters, molded handled knives and locking blades at home because those are still on the banned list.
