Although there is no cure for diabetes, there are several ways to manage and cope with this condition. A chronic lifelong disease, Diabetes often termed the “Silent Killer,”occurs due to inadequate production of insulin by the pancreas, or due to the body’s ineffective use of the insulin produced. Elevated glucose levels in the blood result in frequent urination, especially at nights.  This is mainly because the body flushes out excess sugar through urine. When the body tries to replenish the lost fluids excretes via urine, it results in excessive thirst.
The insufficient insulin levels exhaust the muscles and the organs due to the body’s inability to move sugar into the cells and the tissues making a person ravenous. It is easy to prevent diabetes by eating healthy, being physically active and managing your maintaining a healthy weight. Diabetes is a problem with your body that causes blood glucose (sugar) levels to rise higher than normal. If you find yourself rushing to the washroom frequently, especially at night, this could signal diabetes. So frequent trips to the washroom and thirst are two symptoms that show how your body tries to manage the high blood sugar. The kidneys, in the meantime, work overtime to get rid of the extra sugar and this results in a loss of calories, naturally harming the kidneys..
Those excessive pangs of hunger are a sign of diabetes and are caused by the extreme highs and lows in the blood sugar levels. If you have an infection, a cut, bruises, and other wounds that don’t seem to heal easily this is a classic sign of diabetes. When people suffer from high blood sugar levels, based on how long it has been, they can get used to not feeling well. The hands and feet feel numb or you experience a strange tingling along with burning and swelling.
Have seen my aunt struggle with Diabetes initially and then she adopted a healthy life style and managed it really well. Disclaimer"Be Healthy, Be Happy", this blog, does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Coxsackieviruses can cause non-specific febrile disease but occasionally give rise to pleurodynia, which is characterized by chest pain during breathing that results from the infection of muscles in the rib cage. The involvement of coxsackieviruses in the pathogenesis of type 1 diabetes is not due to direct damage to the pancreatic I?-cells by the virus; instead, it arises from an immunological cross-reaction between viral antigens with cellular antigens found in the I?-cells.
The eradication of viral infections involves cellular immunity, which is mediated mostly by T-lymphocytes.
The interaction between lymphocytes and other nucleated cells that enables the lymphocytes to recognize and eliminate virus-infected cells is controlled by two protein molecules. If the cell is not infected by a virus, these surface-exposed peptides will all be fragments of human-encoded proteins; on the other hand, if the cell is virus-infected, a lot of these peptides will be of viral origin. Since a TA cell receptor arises through a randomized DNA recombination process, its antigen specificity is also random; it may have affinity for a self antigen, that is, a macromolecule that occurs normally in the body and has every right to be there, or for a non-self antigen such as viral protein.
In contrast, TA helper cells and TA killer cells that have no auto-reactive specificity are allowed to persist, since they may have useful affinity for non-self antigens such as viral proteins. The random generation of TA cell clones with novel antigen specificities may also produce cross-reactive clones that recognize both self antigens and viral antigens. When a T cell receptor binds to an antigenic peptide, it really recognizes the complex of the HLA molecule and the peptide, not just the presented peptide alone. The alleles and associated risks listed here are just one illustrative example of the influence of HLA genotypes on the risk of contracting typeA 1 diabetes. They also looked at consumption of apple, orange, grapefruit, and a€?othera€? fruit juices.People who ate at least two servings each week of certain whole fruits - particularly blueberries, grapes, and apples - reduced their risk for type 2 diabetes by as much as 23% in comparison to those who ate less than one serving per month. In a recent study published in Diabetes Care, which looked at a comparison of two prevalent diseases, it was found that an unsettling trend is present in those with either diabetes or arthritis.
Today we will look at the study and find out why not acting now to eliminate diabetes or arthritis may cause additional, preventable, and severe problems down the road.
In the study looking at the health statuses of more than 76,000 adults, researchers used data from the National Health Interview Study of 2010 to determine if there might be a link between arthritis and Diabetes. The medical histories are all self-reported in the Interview Study, and questions were filtered to those adults who reported arthritis, diabetes, or both. The researchers used an additional filter to find people who reported arthritis-attributable activity limitation, called AAAL, either with a reported arthritis condition or any form of diabetes.
Arthritis conditions that the study included were osteoarthritis, rheumatoid, lupus, gout, fibromyalgia, and others. What the researchers discovered was that people who suffered from diabetes were 51% more likely to suffer from arthritis than their non-diabetic counterparts. And the road didn’t only go one direction.  For people who suffered arthritis, they were at a 44% chance increased risk of developing diabetes. While the study authors noted that as age increased, so did the chance of developing either of the diseases, the increased risk rates reported were after adjusting for age, weight, height, and BMI.
Alarmingly, the data revealed that the prevalence to develop both diseases together was highest for the age group between 18-44- NOT the seniors.
Although the two diseases look different at first glance, the connection is no surprise to us health researchers who have been studying the subject for decades.
You see, both type 2 diabetes and arthritis are inflammation diseases, conditions where your body attacks itself.
If you have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and would like to reverse it before myriad complications develop, but are afraid of launching into a lifetime of dangerous pharmaceuticals, there is actually an answer that doesn’t involve drugs. But first, I’d really appreciate it if you click the Facebook button below and share this articles with your friends.

Constipation can also be a sign of inflammatory bowel disease, which comes in either of two forms: ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease.
To initially differentiate ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn's disease (CD), let us first describe them briefly.
The treatment for both ulcerative colitis and Crohn's diseas are very extensive, and requires a great deal of money depending on its severity.
The irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a very common condition but it is among the least understood. Although constipation does not singly characterize the disease, it is part of its most common presenting pattern – constipation alternating with diarrhea.
Untreated gestational diabetes can result in a baby's death either before or shortly after birth. This hormone has intense effects on metabolism playing a major role in the absorption of blood glucose by the body’s cells in the liver, muscle and fat tissues.  This glucose, however, stores up in the liver and muscle preventing the body from using up fat as a source of energy. However, due to the excretion of excess fluid and sugar there may be possibilities of dehydration.
What happens is this: the kidneys work overtime to get rid of the extra glucose cruising through the blood. Very high blood sugar levels cause rapid weight loss – like 10-20 pounds in two three months. When blood sugar levels dive, the body thinks it hasn’t been fed and craves more of the glucose that our cells need, to function efficiently. Other skin conditions include acanthosis nigricans where the skin darkens around the neck or arm pit area.
This happens because the blood vessels are being damaged by the overdose of glucose in the veins and arteries.
Diabetes is considered an immuno-supressed state and this opens you up to a number of infections, although the most common are yeast or candida and other fungal infections. If your blood sugar has been really high, it is when it is brought down that you realize how bad you felt. Its important to know what’s happening to our bodies and even the smallest of irregularities causes problems on a larger scale! The fact that we can prevent it by appropriate lifestyle modifications is what we can be thankful for. A lot of people are suffering from diabetes and the main cause is overweight, so it’s quite crucial to control your body weight.
These viruses contain a single-stranded RNA genome and are a€?nakeda€?, that is, they do not possess a lipid envelope.
These two proteins are the HLA molecules, which we find on all nucleated cells, and the TA cell receptors, which occur only on TA lymphocytes. The variants are produced through combinatorial rearrangement of DNA fragments in the corresponding genes of the TA cells, which means that all receptor molecules found on a given TA cell, as well as on all of its daughter cells, will be identical.*A similar mechanism also produces the clonal variation of antibody specificities in B lymphocytes.
Once such a TA cell comes across another nucleated cell that happens to present its cognate antigenic peptide, it will bind to this cell and attack it. Such clones will usually be suppressed, but occasionally an acute virus infection may intercede and cause them to proliferate before the suppression takes hold. This means that the HLA antigen may augment or reduce the affinity of TA cells for the peptide, and thereby modulate the strength of the immune reaction. Therefore, the risk of developing type 1 diabetes varies substantially between different HLA genotypes. The relative risks are calculated to the average risk of the population; the absolute risks represent the probabilities of contracting typeA 1 diabetes for persons carrying the allele in question. Conversely, those who consumed one or more servings of fruit juice each day increased their risk of developing type 2 diabetes by as much as 21%. The constipation that is present in these cases is due to bowel obstruction and slowed transit.
Our body has a remarkable trait of being tolerant towards the normal bacteria residing in the digestive tract, but in the presence of other ingested pathogens, the body immediately mounts up immune defenses to eliminate the invaders swiftly.
Ulcerative colitis is a chronic disease which is due to inflammation limited to the colon and the rectum, while Crohn's disease is an autoimmune condition affecting any portion of the gastrointestinal tract, but most often affecting the distal part of the small intestine as well as the colon. One cannot even assess accurately his or her risk for colon cancer once these have started, since its being chronic in origin poses more threats – and more possibilities - for complications.
Patients with the irritable bowel syndrome typically feel very uncomfortable especially when symptoms include dyspepsia, vomiting, heartburn and nausea. Constipation can be merely a break in the balance of foods which can cause it, and foods that can prevent it.
I am stunned to learn that more than 62 million in India are diabetic and 1 in 2 of them don’t know they have it.
People with this symptom already have an insulin resistance process happening, even though their blood sugar may not be high.
This makes it difficult for blood, which promotes healing, to reach different areas of the body. Imagine getting up so many times to go to the washroom at night – this would make just about anyone tired, right? Of course, it goes without saying that both of us have to be careful about what we eat, anyway. This way you’ll be able to reduce the chances of having diabetes plus other health issues as well. You will not be surprised to hear that, of the two, myocarditis is the much more serious condition.
They are, however, not found on red blood cells, which have no protein synthesis and thus no use for HLA molecules. The TA cell-mediated killing of virus-infected cells is a key process in antiviral immune defense.

This holds both for regular immune reactions against viruses or other microbes*The diversity of HLA antigens among humans is believed to have arisen through the exposure to different infective agents that selected for different HLA antigens. The researchers found that swapping three servings of juice per week for whole fruits would result in a 7% reduction in diabetes risk. The fruitsa€™ glycemic index (a measure of how rapidly carbohydrates in a food boost blood sugar) did not prove to be a significant factor in determining a fruita€™s association with type 2 diabetes risk. However, in this idiopathic inflammatory bowel disease, this tolerance towards the normal intestinal microflora becomes disrupted, resulting to defects in the mucosa. Genetics also play a role in the presence of these diseases, since there are reports that it runs in families, and it has associations with some genetic syndromes.
The typical diet nowadays can highly induce constipation, and fatty food is one of the major culprits. Extra glucose in your bloodstream crosses the placenta, which triggers your baby's pancreas to make extra insulin.
A mother's high blood sugar may increase her risk of going into labor early and delivering her baby before its due date. Sometimes babies of mothers with gestational diabetes develop low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) shortly after birth because their own insulin production is high. This yellowish discoloration of the skin and the whites of the eyes may occur if a baby's liver isn't mature enough to break down a substance called bilirubin, which normally forms when the body recycles old or damaged red blood cells.
Babies of mothers who have gestational diabetes have a higher risk of developing obesity and type 2 diabetes later in life. Patients with kidney disease (especially patients on dialysis) face many emotional and social stressors. By 2025 this number is expected to escalate to 80 million when India will be crowned Diabetes Capital of the World. And all the extra effort your body has to make to compensate for the glucose deficiency can drive strong people nuts. But like vision if the blood sugar is unchecked and ignored, neuropathy or nerve damage can become permanent. One is the fasting plasma glucose test that checks your blood sugar after a night or eight hours of fasting. Such a cross-reaction may occur between coxsackieviruses and some self antigens of pancreatic I?-cells, causing the destruction of I?-cells and giving rise to type 1 diabetes. However, the high glycemic index of fruit juice - which passes through the digestive system more rapidly than fiber-rich fruit - may explain the positive link between juice consumption and increased diabetes risk. The researchers theorize that the beneficial effects of certain individual fruits could be the result of a particular component. Thus, the pathogenesis of both conditions is both an interaction of both external (otherwise called exogenous, such as luminal flora) and host factors. But then, regardless of these genetic tendencies, the quality of life is very useful in the evaluation of patients with inflammatory bowel disease. Contrary to popular belief, laxatives should be used only when someone fails to respond to the natural ways used to treat constipation.
For me, there is no greater happiness than partnering with these patients in their health and emotional content. It triggers a lot of health issues like kidney trouble, high blood pressure, which in turn start of other health issues – and then sits back and watches the fun. The insulin hormone cannot get glucose into the blood cells where it should be used as energy. Luckily the symptom is reversible once blood sugar levels are back to normal or near normal.
Their absence on red blood cells explains why blood transfusions are far less fraught with immunological incompatibilities than are organ transplants.
Previous studies have linked anthocyanins found in berries and grapes to lowered heart attack risk, for example.
Although these diseases share the same mechanism of pathogenesis, they have very different clinical manifestations. Preventive measures are still particularly important in order to avoid these alarming diseases, all of which merit special medical attention.
Very large babies are more likely to become wedged in the birth canal, sustain birth injuries or require a C-section birth.
Babies born early may experience respiratory distress syndrome — a condition that makes breathing difficult. Prompt feedings and sometimes an intravenous glucose solution can return the baby's blood sugar level to normal.
But if blood sugar is unchecked for long periods, the glucose can cause permanent damage and maybe even blindness. But more research is necessary to determine which components in the more beneficial fruits influence diabetes risk.a€?Our data further endorse current recommendations on increasing whole fruits, but not fruit juice, as a measure for diabetes prevention,a€? said lead author Isao Muraki, research fellow in the Department of Nutrition at HSPH.
Its incidence varies among different locations, but it is more common in developed countries. Babies with this syndrome may need help breathing until their lungs mature and become stronger.
It is a hereditary disease but can definitely be controlled through food habits and exercise. The peak age for their onset is between the ages of 15 and 30 years old, with a second peak age reported to be between 60 and 80 years old.
In conjunction with intake of the right amounts of fluid and fibers, inflammatory bowel diseases become relatively out of reach. Babies of mothers with gestational diabetes may experience respiratory distress syndrome even if they're not born early.
