Without going into too much detail, we obviously are going to continue to strive for good balance with the last 10 characters. The wait for another batch of characters will definitely not be as long as it was going from Demo 1 to Demo 2 (which was a whole year and two months). The final batch of DLC for Super Smash Bros will be announced via Nintendo Direct next week. The game mod went up to Version 3.6 before the project was terminated by the Project M team on December 1st, 2015. A 2GB SD card, a NTSC copy of Super Smash Brothers Brawl, and NTSC Nintendo Wii are needed.

Those all would help give PM its own identity even more than it already has, but they wouldn't really help the issue of people coming in to a stream in the middle of a match and legitimately asking if the game was Brawl.
And I also think Smashville should be changed visually, to differentiate it from Brawl's Smashville, which is by far the most popular stage in that game and has an almost iconic status.

Characters being brighter isn't a bad thing and fits a fun and fast paced game better than the theme that brawl had going.
I would love to see a new menu background as well, the current is kind of space-generic, i would like i to be inspired from SSB64 or Melee, where the word smash bros is seen in the background with hologram, like figures moving in the backgrond. I think the point is to make the Official PM Package have some more differentiations from Brawl. It's based pretty heavily on the normal Melee and Brawl box art, so most of the layout stuff is not mine. For example, the Stage Select screen labels which stages are considered fair and not for tournament play, and actually allows players to ban certain stages that they don’t want to play without going into a separate option menu.
