I had some great homemade meals this week including whole wheat mac and cheese, creamy tomato soup (recipes to follow), and two bean burgers with baked sweet potato fries.
I was been inspired by Kath Eats Real Food to check out Cook Smarts so I signed up for just one month of dinner plans (I know why pay for a meal plan when I am making my own? I am really especially intrigued by the breakfast choices here, because they all sound delicious and breakfast is definitely a meal that I struggle with! Making the transition to real food has been so much fun, and it’s been a lot easier than I thought it would be. I also made refried beans for the first time ever, and they were really enjoyable (recipe also to follow).

Seems like it could be a great way to ease into meal planning, since it takes the pressure off you at first. I love this idea and I’m really jealous you have the will-power to stick so well with it. I’ve never been organized enough to plot out my meals even a day in advance, let alone have the tenacity to stick with them.
I loved the month of Cook Smarts, it was really such a great learning experience and the food was so enjoyable! Preparing foods that you normally get store-bought is so rewarding and actually ends up being a lot cheaper.

We are trying it for the first time this week and the dinners will be incorporated into our meal plan (Cook Smart meals are noted with an asterisk).
Your the clear, concise order to your schedule makes me want to give it another go, though! In fact, I may just have to base my first week of eats on your recommendations here… Thank you for sharing!
