Youth Mental Health First Aid USA is an 8 hour public education program which introduces participants to the unique risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems in adolescents, builds understanding of the importance of early intervention, and teaches individuals how to help an adolescent in crisis or experiencing a mental health challenge. You can help make a difference in a youth's life by helping them get access to Mental Health services when they need them! Just like giving someone CPR when they are experiencing a physical health problem, you can learn how to respond to a youth who may be suffering from a mental health crisis.



Youth Mental Health First Aid is designed to teach parents, family members, caregivers, teachers, school staff, peers, neighbors, health and human services workers, and other caring citizens how to help an adolescent (age 12-18) who is experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or is in crisis.
Youth Mental Health First Aid is primarily designed for adults who regularly interact with young people.
Use a 5-step action plan to help a young person in crisis connect with appropriate professional help. The course includes information on: common mental health challenges for youth, typical adolescent development 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations.
Apply knowledge of the appropriate professional, peer, social, and self-help resources available to help a young person with a mental health problem treat and manage the problem and achieve recovery. This training is being offered FREE to the Robertson County, TN community under a federal grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.


Please note: Registration is first come, first served, and a maximum of 30 participants per training will be registered.
Continuing Education Credits are available for Indiana Law Enforcement Board. All-day attendance is required to receive a certificate. Lunch will be provided, if there are any dietary restrictions please contact the event coordinator.
If fewer than 10 participants register, you will receive an email inviting you to attend a different class later in the year.
