Dave has been around the country several times visiting every state in the union as a commercial truck driver. The Twin Cities was recently ranked number 9 in the country in terms of the growth in suburban poverty. To meet this growing food insecurity, VCS has implemented a capacity expansion initiative in partnership with several local foundations to increase our ability to serve by 40%. Cindy visits the FOTV Food Shelf every month while attending college away from home where she picks up groceries sufficient for almost an entire month. As the face of hunger continues to change, we at VCS hope to stay involved with the food insecure, and provide opportunities for stability and self-sufficiency. Our vision is to extend the truth, power, and love of God to build friendships and perpetuate compassion within our communities, one life at a time.
Our mission is to serve individuals and families (our "Neighbors") in crisis to meet their basic needs and provide opportunities for self sufficiency. Our strategy is to assist our neighbors from crisis to rebuilding to wholeness and stability.
Here are just a few examples of recent designs from the Keep Calm-o-Matic creative community. Please fill out the form below and tell us why you're bringing this poster to our attention.

HOA dues are set to increase, as per the Bulk Contract Financial Impact report, up to $408 per quarter by the end of the seven year contract. This “deal” will bind homeowners to a 7-year long contract without Flexibility to terminate or Opt Out. It allows for one company to monopolize your territory and harder for you to get the best services, prices or company available.

In today’s world, it is a lot easier to send everyone you know an email to raise funds for the Crop Walk than to mail, call, or talk to everyone in person. Today, the focus of CROP is now more about interfaith hunger awareness and fundraising, both around the world and within our own country.
The mission of the Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) is to give hope to homeless families with children. Church World Service works with partners to eradicate hunger and poverty and to promote peace and justice around the world.
I will be working on the site this weekend (Memorial Day Weekend 2010), updating and adding information and photos. They have a permanent self-adhesive backing to ensure that they cannot be easily removed once applied to a smooth, clean surface. According to this study (Brookings, May 2013), the number of suburban poor living in the Twin Cities area   increased from 89,895 in 2000 to 204,901 in 2011. The original idea behind CROP was for midwestern crop farmers in the US to give grain to the recovering countries in post-WWII Europe. IHN realizes its mission by providing transitional shelter and supportive services to homeless families and those at immediate risk to experience homelessness. However, IHN is a secular nonprofit organization whose services are available to all families with children regardless of personal religious beliefs; Network congregations are strictly prohibited from proselytizing to guest families. A fan page has been created on Facebook – you can join by clicking on the FB logo in the upper right corner of the site. FOTV has been a valuable safety net when times got real hard, and Cindy said that her money could then be used to pay bills and to stay in school! We encourage those we serve to develop their capacity for independence, are thrifty with our resources, generous in our hospitality, and responsible to the communities that support us. They are just part of a growing trend of suburban poverty in the metro area, and across the entire country.
In this issue, we look to help Associations navigate the summer waters as smoothly as possible.
