Not to cause a panic, but…THERE ARE A MILLION YOUNG ADULT BOOKS COMING OUT NEXT YEAR!
Luckily for you, I’ve narrowed down the 2015 YA debut books and series to 16 book that I think are going to be truly awesome. The title and graphic are kind of misleading, as many of the titles are not actually debuts. What Ita€™s About:A Juggling some angry Russians, the British Mi5, his impossibly leggy wife and an international terrorist, debonair art dealer and part time rogue Charlie Mortdecai must traverse the globe armed only with his good looks and special charm in a race to recover a stolen painting rumored to contain the code to a lost bank account filled with Nazi gold.
What Ita€™s About:A When disgraced New York Times reporter Michael Finkel (Jonah Hill) meets accused killer Christian Longo (James Franco) a€“ who has taken on Finkela€™s identity a€“ his investigation morphs into an unforgettable game of cat-and-mouse. What Ita€™s About:A Set in Brooklyn and Ireland in the early 1950s, a young woman is torn between her family in Ireland and the American who wins her heart. What Ita€™s About:A Based on the 1820 event, a whaling ship is preyed upon by a sperm whale, stranding its crew at sea for 90 days, thousands of miles from home. What Ita€™s About:A Beatrice Prior must confront her inner demons and continue her fight against a powerful alliance which threatens to tear her society apart with the help from others on her side.
What Ita€™s About:A A young man, Quentin, and his four friends, embark upon the road trip of their lives to find the missing girl next door.
What Ita€™s About:A  The true story of Whitey Bulger, the brother of a state senator and the most infamous violent criminal in the history of South Boston, who became an FBI informant to take down a Mafia family invading his turf. What Ita€™s About:A A woman who survived the brutal killing of her family as a child is forced to confront the events of that day by a secret society obsessed with solving notorious crimes.
What Ita€™s About:A An astronaut gets stranded on Mars in an accident, and then must figure out how to stay alive long enough to get back home. What Ita€™s About:A In the seventeenth century, two Jesuit priests face violence and persecution when they travel to Japan to locate their mentor and to spread the gospel of Christianity.
Here are a few others that are slated to be released in 2015 but don’t have release dates or many details. I want to read some longer books too, perhaps some more complicated ones so I have decided to keep the challenge at a low number. 2014 was basically the year that I started reading properly again, which I'm obviously so happy I did.
I achieved my target of 30 books for '14 but by the skin of my teeth ;) I finished the last book for the year, 5 hours before midnight.
I also want to read books with more pages so I'm gonna put fewer books and increase the number if necessary. I achieved 81 books last year which was one over my challenge and that was hard to achieve at times. I seem to be doing what a number of people are: setting a lower goal for this year (read 91 in 2014, setting 2015 at 60) because I have a number of longer length books I want to read.
God Help The Child by Toni MorrisonIt was her best-known book Beloved that won Toni Morrison a Pulitzer Prize and her elegantly sparse style and ability to open eyes and hearts with her words have made her one of the most admired authors writing today.
A Place Called Winter by Patrick GaleA Place Called Winter by Patrick Gale is a gorgeously written, bittersweet story about secrets and identity.
A Reunion Of Ghosts by Judith Claire MitchellAnyone with sisters will relate to A Reunion Of Ghosts, a pitch-black comedy starring three eccentric middle-aged siblings who believe their family is cursed. Hush, Hush by Laura LippmanLaura Lippman returns with another clever crime story featuring feisty PI, Tess Monahan. The Umbrian Thursday Night Supper Club by Marlena de BlasiThe Umbrian Thursday Night Supper Club celebrates the life-affirming joys of friendship and food. Get It Together by Zoe WilliamsNo matter what the subject, Guardian columnist and GH regular Zoe Williams is always astute and entertaining.
Love, Sex And Other Foreign Policy Goals by Jesse ArmstrongAs the pen behind The Thick Of It and Peep Show, Jesse Armstrong is already an accomplished TV writer.
The Little Paris Bookshop by Nina GeorgeA bookseller who prescribes novels to his troubled customers (an idea we heartily approve of!) is the hero of The Little Paris Bookshop by Nina George. Unravelling Oliver by Liz NugentIrish author Liz Nugent delivers a chilling thriller about an abusive marriage in Unravelling Oliver.

In the Sunken City that was once Paris, all who oppose the new revolution are being put to the blade. When she’s accused of being a witch herself, Elizabeth is arrested and sentenced to die at the stake. Since she was a baby, Aza has suffered from a mysterious lung disease that makes it ever harder for her to breathe, to speak—to live. After all, generations of Duprees have successfully followed the (100% accurate!) love fortunes from Zita’s famous Love Charms Shop to happily marry their high school sweethearts. But after graduation, the only thing standing between straightedge Skylar and art school are three minimum-wage months of summer.
Other interests include Downton Abbey, heat lightning storms, Harry Potter land and (begrudingly) one orange tabby.
About halfway through researching books, I changed tactics and didn’t even think to change the title. Based on actual events, Finkela€™s relentless pursuit of Longoa€™s true story encompasses murder, love, deceit and redemption. She encourages her friend to go without her and over the next twelve years their lives change but an undeniable connection remains. Serena not only takes to the woods, but she also pushes her husband to commit more and more ruthless acts.
I’m a big fan of reading the book before the movie, so I can over-analyze every detail! I don't mean that I want to read less, but that I want to concentrate on reading more pages rather than more books. I don't really know how many books I read though, but my goal for this year is to read as many books as I can, without it feeling like something hard to achieve. And my second challenge is to leave no unread books in my library, currently there are 60+ books. By setting a goal of 200 I want to make up the deficit of last year with my goal for this year. In my defence though, I read 5 1000 page books last year besides trying to concentrate on my course work.
With working full time and being a single mum I don't have as much time to read as I would like. It's the little things in life.Anyway, I set myself to read 30 books this year, and apparentl it's an easy target. It's really beautiful! My goal is to steadily read a little every single day and not fall into a reading slump again. And in the mesmerising Villa America, Liza Klaussmann inhabits the glamorous world of F Scott Fitzgerald’s circle. When a bored housewife embarks on an affair, her apparently perfect life starts to unravel at an alarming rate - and there is seemingly nothing she can do to stop it. A woman starts reading a book that has mysteriously appeared on her bedside table, only to discover that it's based on a secret from her past. In Hush Hush, a mother cleared of killing her baby has her case reopened a decade later when her ex-husband is found dead.
Food writer Marlena de Blasi recounts meals she and four Italian neighbours cook together every month and the stories they share about their past lives and loves. In Get It Together she addresses the big issues that were debated in the run up to the General Election.
Now he debuts as a novelist with Love, Sex And Other Foreign Policy Goals, about a gang of well-meaning Brits bringing theatre to war-torn Bosnia.

Except for those who disappear from their prison cells, a red-tipped rook feather left in their place. So when Aza catches a glimpse of a ship in the sky, her family chalks it up to a cruel side effect of her medication. If you are looking for a good book to read, check out this list of books becoming movies in 2015. When she learns she cannot bear a child, Serena sets out to murder the son her husband fathered illegitimately. The man decides his life is not worth living until the girl is hired for six months to be his new caretaker. You can create a goal and track your progress with the 2015 Reading Challenge on Goodreads!
In 2014, my goal was to read a book a week, which I achieved, but in order to do that, I kept reading relatively short books (average of 300 pages). I'd rather set a small goal (30 books or something), achieve it and feel good about myself; than setting a too big goal and failing haha. So I am going back to the 100 books from the previous year and will try and do them all justice. Sometimes I read for days on end and others I just stay away from reading for a week or so. Together the group spends summers lounging on the French Riviera – until a stranger arrives, bringing tragedy into their gilded lives. I always love to read the book before I see the movie, this list should give you a great head start.
I’m hoping that the faces and difference of dress will make them more clear in the movie.
So ultimately, though I read 17 more books than I did in 2013, I read only about 1200 pages more. I'd love to absorb more of my books by reading slower instead of racing to finish this challenge.
The task is simple: be her fill-in boyfriend— two hours, zero commitment, a few white lies. But,the girl becomes determined to prove to the man that life is worth living and as they embark on a series of adventures together, each finds their world changing in ways neither of them could begin to imagine. After reading the book, I think this is one of those rare ones where the movie has the potential to be better than the book. This year, I have a number of very long books on my to-read list (including War and Peace, which I started a few months ago but couldn't complete), so I am aiming for a more modest total number of books read, but a higher page count than last year. My main goal though is to read a few pages everyday (doesn't matter if it's 2 or 200 pages), regardless of how much shit school puts on my shoulders.
