I fully loaded my XLT with options and did spend money on the more functional options like the tailgate & bed side steps. In closing you can easily get a alot of truck for under $40000 with an F150 that will go offroad, tow, carry large loads, and even do roadtrips with the family.

So while the Corvette Z06 might have taken the supercar battle to the next level, it will be interesting to see if Dodge answers.
I was surprised to find out that the Viper curb weight is 170 lbs less than the Corvette, I would have thought the corvette would be 200-300 lbs lighter than the viper :(. But not just any Ford F-150, the most powerful and the most off-road worthy version that Ford builds. Just don’t try running through the desert at 100 mph or towing more than a couple hundred pounds. I can throw fifty pounds of gravel over my shoulder and then climb up in with my hand on the handle easily. Obviously, the folks at Dodge saw a problem on the horizon when they decided to reduce the Viper price by $15,000 recently.
How could you feel good about yourself driving a high-end Corvette and not shifting it yourself? Dodge has done an amazing job distributing weight on the vehicle, which allows it to corner perfectly.

But at this point, both Chevy and Dodge have to be getting to the limit of what they can offer in the horsepower vs vehicle weight game. It’s much easier to carry sheets of plywood, pipe lengths, landscaping barriers, and bags of stone with a 6 foot bed. The shorter cab keeps the same over all length of a crewcab with the 5 foot bed which means its easier to park in a normal parking spot. With the ecoboost V6 I still get 17mpg average even with the offroad 4×4 package and the maxtow package as long as I am not towing. I’ve loaded my bed with all kinds of items and not a nick, scratch or dent in it yet.
I picked up an organizer of amazon and now can carry my pistol, ammo, binoculars, airguage, ice scraper, rolls of quarters for the toll roads, note pad, flashlight, pens, tissues, wetwipes, and gloves. Heck I don’t use the glove box for anything other than to carry my insurance card & owners manual!
