The free online 2012 Global Education Conference is currently accepting proposals for topics. Please keep in mind that proposals must be global-minded and should focus on ideas, examples, or projects that connect organizations, educators and classrooms.
The audience is primarily K20 educators, students and organizations and the conference will primarily be in English.

That is why, we at GEP are committed to bringing you the most upto date information on studying abroad. Here you can find the full text, and below we share the concept of  Education for Global Citizenship (EGC). EGC is integral to quality education, enabling learners to acquire the skills, knowledge, values and attitudes that can support them being active and responsible, global citizens.

Global Teacher Education works primarily with teacher education faculty in institutions of higher education to support our mission of developing the next generation of globally competent educators. They are looking for ideas that promote global awareness, fostering global competency, and inspiring action towards solving real-world problems. We also believe that studying abroad can bring about experiences and insights that can positively effect our future. CONCORD Europe took the initiative to organise the conference in partnership with Oxfam Interational, the North-South Centre, Beyond2015, UNESCO, Education International, the Global Campaign for Education, Engagement Global, CIVICUS and in support of the Global Education First Initiative.
From Inventors4Change we totally agree with this definition, and we will integrate the concept into our project. EGC is grounded in a rights-based approach to education, utilises learner-centred participatory pedagogy (including peer-to-peer and lifelong learning), and concerns all education stakeholders across sectors. We are seeking people who will partner with less experienced educators to introduce them to this concept.
Without teachers, however, our work is irrelevant, so we have provided this page as a resource to teachers who work to provide their students with a global perspective.
You can trust Global Education to give you a studying abroad experience noone else will never be able to give you.

EGC should be embedded within all subjects, across learning environments and integrated into all education pathways (formal, non-formal and informal education). You will have the option to renew, but you will not be automatically billed at the end of your subscription. Please also search our reference desk and reference section for additional resources and articles.Have a resource to share?
