Piamjariyakul was awarded highly competitive intramural and extramural grants to conduct focus group research to discover critical factors from professionals, patients, and family members contributing to chronic illness management. Piamjariyakul has exhibited her collaborative efforts through her work on an invited book chapter regarding a systematic review of telemedicine utilization and coaching strategies to improve heart failure home care management. This year we will be examining the effects of intravenous coenzyme Q10 as it relates to the production of superoxide and hydrogen peroxide in a hemorrhagic shock model. We hope that our data will assist us in determining specific approaches in the evaluation of different treatments as it relates to oxidative stress in hemorrhagic shock.
