In 2008, in addition to her massage work, Debbie began working as a teaching assistant and marketing manager to Lolita Knight, founder of Fijian Massage, Chinese Facial Massage and Soft Touch Island Massage. An amazing facial massage treatment involving 25 Chinese pressure points and the application of two natural products (honey and macadamia nut oil).  Learn how to help relieve tension, reduce facial lines, tone, uplift and enhance appearance and address TMJ discomfort for clients of all ages with Debbie DeNardo. A calming yet revitalizing Ayurvedic technique that focuses on the parts of the body most prone to tension and stress: the upper back, neck, shoulders, face and scalp. Each student will leave with a blend they have created and will have access to recipes of blends and single oils for specific work.
The program is designed to provide students with the essential skills to become a State Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist. In addition to the 16 hours of lecture, students must be available for another 13 hours a week to complete their clinical hours, for a total 29 hours a week.
The NCBTMB is an independent, private, nonprofit organization that fosters high standards of ethical and professional practice through a recognized certification program.
She is owner of Botanical Healing Arts and a contributing writer for the National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy. During this time she worked closely with Lolita, assisting in the development of new techniques such as those found in Soft Touch Island Massage & Massage Tools. Learn how to help shoulder tension, eyestrain, headaches, concentration, hair health and emotional stress for clients during a chair or table massage with Debbie DeNardo. The curriculum includes the skills necessary for safe, effective and ethical practices required to perform basic Swedish massage. All clients are required to complete a client intake form and all SOAP notes are to be completed by the student and retained in the client file.

Her professional memberships include the National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy, the Alliance of International Aromatherapists, and Aromatics in Action.
Mary has taken teacher trainings with various well known instructors in Chicago since 2001 (such as Gary Kraftsow of Vini-Yoga, SeaneCorn, Natasha Rizopolous, Scott Blossom, Kino McGregor, and Lino Miele).
In July, 2011 Mary was trained in Ashiatsu: Oriental Bar Therapy alongside Cheryl Louviere and Jen Thomson. Now a certified instructor and approved provider of NCBTMB continuing education courses, Debbie is continuing Lolita’s legacy by bringing unique and beneficial classes to the massage community as Lolita enjoys retirement. Through CE Institute of Illinois, Holmes provides continuing education in massage and aromatherapy to therapists in Illinois’ top ten spas as well as to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. She has been most inspired by several prana vinyasa flow teacher trainings with master yoga teacher Shiva Rea. We are very proud to be the first spa in Champaign-Urbana to offer the deepest, most luxurious massage on the planet.
Debbie’s blend of technique, knowledge and sense of fun translates well into a creative, hands-on class environment. Mary completed her Yoga Alliance Certification through Moksha Yoga School in 2007 and continues to take a regular pilgrimage. Committed to the process of learning, she believes that we are all students of what our life has to teach us.
She loves to incorporate the knowledge of the past (asanas, meditation, bandhas, mantra and mudras) with what is relevant in the here and now.
Mary is also a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist (NCTMB), studying a wide range of massage modalities.
