21 Day Fix is a new diet and exercise program made by BeachBody, the same company that brought you P90X and Insanity.

The 21day fix lays it all out so that you simply use the 7 colored portion-control containers when it is time to eat your meals. A lot of my clients tend to struggle at first putting together a meal plan for the 21 Day Fix, so I’m going to share with you the meal planning process I follow.  I’ve also got some free 21 Day Fix planning sheets you can use to make it even easier.
The 21 Day Fix comes with 2 DVDs that have 3 workouts – each workout delivers a fairly decent calorie burn (all within 30 minutes). It was really easy to create a meal plan based on this structure because you know how many you need each day, you have a list to choose from, and all you have to do is put it together.

Most users report that the workouts are well-crafted and simple to learn but difficult to master. You’ll perform a single arm row with a dumbbell while maintaining a plank position, for example. When you’re watching the DVD, you’ll see the people behind Autumn performing some different moves based on their own fitness levels.
When you first start the diet, you’ll need to use a formula to determine how many calories you should be consuming per day. Fill up each container with the appropriate food and separate them into breakfast, lunch, and dinner. However, when you drink a serving of these milks, you’ll need to subtract one yellow container from your daily total. But if you absolutely must cheat, then you should add an additional green container, because it’s tough to overeat vegetables.

Start small – with 2.5 pound or 5 pound dumbbells – then see if you can work your way up to higher levels. That’s more than most other workout DVDs – but keep in mind that you’re buying the portion-controlled food containers as well. This strategy has helped many people successfully eat less and also encourages you to make better choices.
Try eating a variety of fruit and veggies.This will help you try new foods that you may greatly enjoy. To help you when it comes to losing weight, you must try to monitor the amount of calories you consume.
It has scientifically been proven that people enjoy knowing when their next meal is and are less likely to search for other food when they know their schedule. Try not to get discouraged if you don’t see results right away because the results will come.

A lot of innovative and engaging moves, you will never notice it lasting for over 30 minutes. You have to make a much more principled change when it comes to the foods you’re eating and this program doesn’t help you do that or even allude to the importance of it. I’m a full time worker and a full time college student, so finding time to make it to the gym can be a struggle! So, I have a set list of snacks that are 21 Day Fix approved and clean eating approved as well.
So much so that there is now the FIXATE cookbook: 101 of Autumn’s favorite, family-friendly recipes that are even color-coded for easy tracking of containers while you’re on the program! I truly believe that this is because my diet already consists of all the foods they recommend and I work out one or two times per day. As with healing and gut health, you’re not going to get your hormones back in alignment without more principled changes. You basically eat the same meal plan but use your portion controlled containers and daily container allotments to make this in line with your goals. This is a great for people who have a deadline to hit for an important date like for an upcoming wedding, anniversary, vacation in the tropics or you want some super simple to follow to loose weight.

That site sucks me in for hours with all of the delicious looking recipes and I find it so fun to pin things and just adapt them to my eating style at the time.  It’s just perfect with the 21 Day Fix program. If you’re out of shape, then you might find that you can use your own body weight for resistance in many workouts – although most people will want to use dumbbells or kettle bells to tone up more quickly. If you have not yet tried prepping meals ahead of time, I’m here to tell you that it can make or break your nutrition goals.
A lot of these products cannot replace real food and they have more calories than you may thing. If you absolutely must eat a meal before bedtime, just have a piece of fruit or some veggies and some water. You can consult a dietician about proper whole grain choices or research your own questions. Get more exercise each day by making personal deliveries instead of getting a cart that goes by. Maintaining an awareness of how much processing your food has gone through will make you more selective about the foods you decide to purchase on your grocery runs. I initially included this section in my review, because if you hate the word yah, you will never get past your first workout since it’s one of the trainer’s favorite words.

I keep one on my fridge and one in my purse so I could quickly make the healthiest choices based on what containers I had left in the day. If you can focus on working out every day for 21 days in a row while also maintaining a portion-controlled diet, then 21 Day Fix will help you hit your targets.
Create your own 21 Day Fix Approved Clean Eating Foods Chart.  Your own personal chart contains food choices that you personally like to eat instead of referring to the much larger general foods list. The good news is that the workouts have either been edited or re-shot as my more recent following of the program online, I have not noticed this, at all.
Let’s face it….it IS more work when you compare cooking your own meals and cleaning up to going out to eat or eating from lots of packages. So let’s talk about the fitness side of this.  You guys these workouts were actually really great!  I’ll be totally honest and admit I went into this program thinking I wouldn’t really care for them since I have a routine that I’m used to and sometimes change can be frustrating. For example, if you fall in between the 1,200 to 1,500 calorie a day diet, the 21 Day Fix Meal Plan will tell you exactly how many of each of the 7 containers you can have throughout the day. You see, Beachbody tells you that Shakeology is gluten-free, but what most people don’t know is it’s not manufactured in a gluten-free plant and Beachbody does not feel confident in certifying their products gluten-free.
People that just have 10 pounds to lose, or those that have over 100 pounds to lose will see incredible results. That color-coded system looks like this: If your food fits in the container, you can eat it. Let’s look at what this program is and why it works so you understand what you are looking into. This ensures that every meal contains the correct proportions of nutrient groups, such as proteins, fats, vegetables and carbohydrates.
It is only three weeks from your life, at 30 minutes per day, along with a very detailed and straightforward approach to eating healthy.
