Cost: In some cases you will not need to purchase anything new, you may already have what you need. When we were considering our packs we began by looking at a company that was recommended by another Prepper, the company was Maxpedition. Having all your provisions in one bag or pack will make getting away much faster than trying to gather everything you will need at a moments notice. You will want to pack anything that you would need, keeping in mind that you may be carrying it yourself. Are you going to use what you have, or buy something new? You should choose a bag or pack that is unique one that when you see it, you will know right off that is your 72 Hour Go Bag. If you need to purchase new, what can you afford, will you need to spread out the purchases over several months?
It will need to withstand the wear and tear it might go though in an emergency evacuation, by car, on foot, or other. When you consider your pack, remember a shoulder carry would free your hands and many times is easier to carry than something you have to hold with your hands. Your Bug-Out Bag is your sustainment load that will ensure that you will have enough drinking water, food, shelter, medical supplies, means of communications, and means of self-defense to sustain yourself throughout the emergency. MREs (discussed below), freeze-dried foods, and canned foods all fulfill these requirements. It is your sustainment load that will ensure that you will have enough water, food, shelter, medical supplies, communications, and means of self-defense to sustain you for at least 72 hours should you have to bug-out.
If you attach a spreadsheet on when it needs to be rotated and when it was last rotated, it will help you keep track. This is just to give you an idea of how you can get the items cheaper and where I found them on sale over the past year or so. Something you might want to add is a small sewing kit with needles, thread, safety pins, etc. I lived in ny during September 11th and having any, form of emergency supplies can help you feel self reliant.
I now i need water and food and a blanket but is there any thing else that is needed for my little four legged family members? If you are living in the US outside this area, please contact us directly before placing your order.

A bag that is unique will make getting away that much faster when you don’t have to think twice about which pack to grab. If we write a review of a paid ad or endorsement that review will be based on our personal opinions not on payment.
With all that in mind you still want to remember that the purpose of the bag is to get you someplace safe within 72 hours, and not to build a log cabin in the woods, start a militia or hunt bears.
EU regulations mean we have to point this out, hence the annoying message, which will only appear on this first visit. The idea is a little overwhelming in the beginning but if you can get one started and add to it here and there, then it won’t seem like such a hard task. Or pick two important dates during the year and associate them with your 72 Hour Kits- maybe your Birthday and your Anniversary that are about 6 months apart.
