FROM POTABLE WATER TO AGGRESSIVE CHEMICALS, UIG ECOGLASS TM, GLASS FUSED-TO-STEEL BOLTED STORAGE TANKS ARE THE ANSWER TO YOUR STORAGE NEEDS. The Glass Fused to Steel construction of these bolted tanks is exceptional for the storage of potable water, waste water, petroleum, chemicals and dry bulk and in such applications as reservoirs (open top or with aluminum dome or flat panel roof), power generation stations, standpipes, frac processing, fish ponds, sludge tanks, trickling filters, high temp fermentation plants.
They are used in many different applications such as waste water treatment plants, bio-gas plants and petroleum tank farms where steel corrosion would be an issue.  Glass Lined Tanks are quick to manufacture and can be erected easily in the field with our experienced crew or by utilizing a supervisor and local labor. Glass Fused to Steel Bolted tanks are a very popular choice for water storage tanks but how do you make sure you are specifying the right manufacturer for your project? UIG Glass Lined Storage Tanks not only conforms to the AWWA D103 standards but FAR EXCEEDS the standard by providing a stronger, safer product.
UIG utilizes thinner coatings than other manufacturers which increases the role of the base metal’s mechanical properties, providing a harder, more flexible, less brittle and greater chip resistant tank panel.  UIG’s proprietary enamel frits and high Titanium (Ti) content carbon steel provide unparalleled adhesion. UIG uses proprietary Titanium (Ti) rich Hot Rolled Carbon Steel is specifically manufactured for the enameling process. Sheet edges must be properly coated with the same enamel material in order to avoid electrolysis of dissimilar metals, rust and weakening of the enamel bonding. Laser Cutter in UIG manufacturing plant used for precisely bolt holes and opening in bolted tank panels. Most manufacturers use the same fin-necked bolts to assemble their glass lined tanks as they use for their epoxy coated tanks.  Epoxy tanks may be touched up in the field which allows for the use of these types of bolts but using these same bolts on glass lined tanks allow the fins to bite into the enameling leading to cracking and scratches which can cause rusting inside the tank. UIG’s proprietary finless bolts are safe to use with glass fused-to-steel bolted tanks and do not crack the enamel during the installation process.

GLASS FUSED TO STEEL TANK ADVANTAGES• Corrosion Resistant Enameling gives superior strength and durability. Sta-Rite has everything from submersible pumps for home well use, to jet pumps for a private well, to sprinkler and irrigation pumps to draw from lakes, rivers, or groundwater wells. The PENTEK INTELLIDRIVE® Water Pressure Control Center automatically adjusts motor speeds to meet changes in water demand.

You need hot water all year – so unlike space heating you will save money by insulating your tank even in the height of summer!
A combi boiler produces hot water on demand, so in many cases they are more convenient than regular boilers since you can do away with the hot water tank.
Modern tanks generally have insulation already installed – and this is usually sufficient, but some older tanks with outdated insulation could still benefit from an additional jacket. The modern standard is around 50mm of factory foam or 80mm of loose jacket insulation in the case of a retrofit, if you are not up to these standards – you will definitely benefit from an insulation top up. Going from a completely uninsulated tank to a well insulated one (by simply adding a jacket) can save you around ?150 a year or more, so it is an absolute must if you can see your face reflecting off the shinny cooper hot water tank! Based on a hot water jacket costing from about ?25, the payback is in just a couple of months. For most of us however, our tanks do have some form of insulation, so the savings won’t be as staggering – but that doesn’t mean it’s not worthwhile! Perhaps a more important reason to insulate water pipes is that they can freeze in the winter – which is really expensive to sort out.
Even the most insulated tank will be wasting you money if you are heating water when you don’t need it. About usWe provide energy efficiency advice to help households and businesses save money on their energy bills and become more sustainable. Northern Tool + Equipment, Generators, pressure washers, air compressors, power tools, trailers, heaters, stoves, food processing, go karts, and more! Instantaneous feedback from an electronic pressure transducer instructs the drive to change the submersible well pump motor speed to maintain constant pressure throughout the system. The tank is where your hot water gets stored after being heated by the boiler, and if it is poorly insulated, it will lose heat much quicker.
One of the major issues with combi boilers thought, is that if the water pressure is low in your property then your shower or taps might just trickle.
This is because insulation requirements just a few decades back were much lower, so adding and an additional layer of insulation could save a significant amount of money.

The hot pipes that run between your cylinder and your boiler can give off a lot of heat if they are not insulated. Making sure you lag (insulate) the pipes properly can go some way to protecting you against this happening.
Take a look at your programmer and make sure that it is coming on at the right time and for the right duration. In general, thinner porcelain enamel coatings are more flexible and have greater resistance to fracture.  Normally, heavier coatings are used on cast iron or appliances where rigidity of the substrate resists deformation and reduces the danger of fracture. We are one of only a few manufacturers of both water well pumps and pressurized water storage tanks, with both steel and fibrewound pressure tanks in our arsenal of water pump products. This then means that it requires more energy for the boiler to re-heat this water, in order to ensure that you have a hot shower when you get in from work.
Remember – if yours looks something like the one in the picture above, with bare metal exposed, you could be wasting a lot of money!
In most cases it is really easy to buy some pipe insulation from the DIY store and slip it around the exposed pipes. Try reducing the amount of time you heat the water for and see if you notice any difference. If you have a cylinder thermostat, make sure you set it to the right temperature (usually around 65-70 degrees. These sorts of things can save you even more money that would otherwise go to heating water you will never use.
