The sleek and stylish P-140 is designed to impress with rounded corners, built-in speakers, and a new orange LED that is sure to turn heads. 2- some people look for a piano action which they can exercise or play on it and the feel would be some thing that beside enjoys from paying, when the time comes to paly on a real thing they can do it with no difficulties.

Divide your purchase into 24 equal payments and receive 24 months of interest free financing. Yamaha P85 88-Key Digital Stage PianoGigging keyboardists, serious students, lovers of piano music of all stripes, lend the Yamaha P85 your ears!
The P85 give you access to some of the most sought-after features in the digital piano market, the first being Yamaha's celebrated Graded Hammer Standard action keyboard.
While the P85 sports a full 88-key keyboard and its own sound system, it still only weighs about 25lbs. While the Yamaha P85 is focused on delivering acoustic-piano performance in a compact and affordable package, it comes with a few extras only available in a digital instrument. It's the digital stage piano experience like only Yamaha can deliver, with amazing sound, realistic feel, and a wealth of smart, practical features to enhance your playing experience.
Yamaha P85 88-Key Digital Stage PianoThe Yamaha P85 Digital Piano features an authentic, natural sound with remarkable expressiveness in a compact, affordable piano. The gorgeous piano sounds of the P-85 feature meticulous digital sampling of a full concert grand piano—that change in tone and volume depending on how you play—thanks to Yamaha's sophisticated AWM Stereo Sampling.
Enjoy authentic, naturally expressive key touch—modeled after an actual acoustic piano, from the low notes to the high—with the Graded Hammer Standard (GHS) keyboard. The attractive, slim, lightweight design of the instrument—less than 25 lbs—suits virtually any room decor, while the built-in speaker system fills your room with luscious sound. The versatile P85 also gives you a variety of other high-quality instrument Voices, including electric pianos, organs, strings and harpsichord—plus a Dual Voice feature for playing two Voices at once. You can capture your own playing with the song recording feature, then play it back for studying or accompaniment.
Features a half-pedal effect that gives you greater acoustic-like expressive control over the sound (with optional FC3 Foot Controller or LP-5 Pedal Unit). Later i'll probably buy Yamaha's top of the line DP simply because i like this one so much.
Recorded using Yamaha's own AWM sampling technology, all onboard voices accurately reproduce the subtlest harmonics of the actual instrument with stunning realism.

With three separate layers of stereo samples each set at a different velocity, Dynamic Stereo Sampling changes not only the volume, but also the harmonic structure of the notes depending on how hard you play the keyboard - just like a real acoustic piano!
It's designed so that the keys in the lower registers have a heavier touch than those in the upper, which helps to create the feel of an acoustic piano. These new features are all built into a compact chassis available in either silver or black with wood top panels of maple or dark oak respectively.
I gave it 9 because there are some extra features in the hi end samples which is not presented on P140 like strings resonance(not sustain resonance ) or 5 or more layers of samples. A pack of good sounding piano sounds with amazing YAMAHA GHE piano action system and alot of extra features Plus a nice look. You'll be glad you did, as the P85 is one of the finest sounding digital pianos in its price range--or any price range! The keys respond to the touch like a real instrument should, with smooth resistance and quick rebound.
Beyond the amazing sampled piano sounds, the P85 has a wide variety of high-quality and expressive instrument voices, including electric pianos, basses, percussion, strings and more. This new Contemporary Piano gives you all the dynamic, high-quality sound and natural piano response you expect from Yamaha, along with a high-quality built-in speaker system—packed into a slim, exceptionally affordable digital piano you can play virtually anywhere. I give it a 10 star rating (for it's price point - and probably the best i've heard for under $1,200). An exclusive fourth sample layer recreates a piano's unique sustain resonance whenever the damper pedal is pressed, while key-off samples add even the subtle sounds of felt dampers coming to rest on piano strings.
Just take a look at the different-sized hammers under the lid of any grand piano and you'll see why Yamaha puts the Graded Hammer Effect keyboard in all P-Series instruments. What's more, these stylish designs are perfectly complemented by the P-140's optional, slim keyboard stands in either color. The action is very good but even with blindfold test you can easily recognize that it's a digital not acoustic.
You will not be disappointed if you don't expect too much from the internal 6watts speakers althogh they are fine according to my taste. The P-115 includes a faithfully reproduced sampling of Yamaha's renowned CFIIIS 9' concert grand piano, allowing for incredible dynamics and expressiveness. The TouchYamaha's GHS (Graded Hammer Standard) weighted action has heavier touch in the low end than in the high end, just like the hammers inside an acoustic piano. The graded action feels heavier in the bass and gets lighter as you move up the keyboard, emulating the gradual action shift of an acoustic instrument. The P85's integrated, stereo speaker system means you won't have to lug around additional amplification for smaller gigs or home practice.
The keyboard lets you layer two of those voices on top of one another, so you sound like two keyboardists at once. I'm refering to the samples themselves, thru $30 headphones, and not the speaker system on the keyboard itself - which isn't too bad either.

Better still, the P-140's highly efficient built-in powered speaker system directs your music forward for unbeatable sound. Since many of the songs are classic piano pieces, anyone taking lessons can listen to them for reference. Great for the aspiring pianist, practicing on the GHS action builds the proper technique for when the time comes to perform on an acoustic piano. The AmplificationThe tweeter position has been improved in the P-A115 to be in line with the ears of the performer. If you've been seeking a keyboard that's professional yet affordable, full-sized yet portable, performance-centric yet flexible, the Yamaha P85 is exactly the right fit! And the Yamaha P85 sounds just as good as it plays, thanks to Yamaha's AWM (Advanced Wave Memory) stereo-sampled grand piano sound set. You also get a selection of 4 different reverb effects and a lush stereo chorus effect to sweeten the P85's already sweet-sounding instrument patches. The other sounds are above the average BUT don't forget it is a digital piano not a work station keyboard. Yamaha builds some of the world's finest concert grand pianos, so they know exactly what a piano should sound like.
Other extras include a metronome--a must for effective practice--and a built-in recorder--a boon to budding songwriters and composers. This new configuration ensures that the instrument sounds sparkle and come alive across the entire tonal range. The RhythmsThe P-115 has on-board drum rhythms for practice or performance. The digital Yamaha piano experience is one made all the richer for that know-how, and the virtual instrument responds just like the real thing, with note timbre changing expressively the harder or softer you play. There's a variety of rhythm patterns to choose, from basic rock to shuffle and swing beats. There's also an input jack for footswitch sustain control, and a switch-style pedal (the Yamaha FC5) is included. Use the rhythms to add an element of fun to your practicing, or simply use them as a virtual drummer for your performances. The EffectsThe P115 is loaded with a variety of rich Voices, from pianos to electric pianos, organs, strings, bass and more.
Upgrade to a piano-style footswitch (like the Yamaha FC3), and the P85 allows for special half-damper sounds. This leaves your right hand free to play other melodies and chords, or add musical flare to your Pianist Style accompaniment. Voices, rhythms and other settings can be selected while looking at the screen, making it easy to enjoy new functions with ease.
