What are some the benefits for children who are involved in a piano lessons for kids program? By now you should know how to play the three main chords we covered which are C major, F major and G major. But how are we going to take these and learn how to play the piano by chords while accompanying a song?
The melody is made of a succession of tones which are arranged in a way that makes sense to us. Practically speaking, the chords will mostly share common notes with the melody in order to support it. It is also the second most important element in music since it tells us how a chord functions in a musical passage. All the beats are equal to each other and they help us to measure the length of a note or a chord in our case. People want to learn how to play chords in order to be able to play any song they desire easily.
This is the " Secrets of Exciting Chords & Chord Progressions!" newsletter that you (or someone using your E-mail address) signed up for when you visited our site. Learn to play this easy arrangement for beginners of this really popular English nursery rhyme. Jingle Bells sheet music is one of those need-to-know pieces for beginner piano players. This free sheet has so many things going for it, both for the student, and from the perspective of the teacher! Why is this such a great song for beginners?First of all, Jingle Bells is such a familiar tune, that even when it is not the Christmas season, little kids are often very excited to learn it. The very easiest way to add LHThe first week or so, if they already have the experience of putting LH chords to a RH melody, you might suggest that they use just a C chord the whole song, with no chord change, as in Indian Dance. Do you have a funny story about this music, or does it remind you of something you'd like to share with other readers? If you no longer want to receive these free weekly E-mail piano lessons, toggle down to the bottom of this E-mail and you'll see where you can take yourself off the list. I hope you are enjoying learning about all the chords in the world -- and we're going to cover them ALL before we're done -- you'll know more about chords than 99% of the people in the world -- believe it or not, it's true. Some people go through their entire lives not being sure about what such and such a major chord is -- and it's all so unnecessary, because you can memorize them in just a few minutes, and learn to play them in 12 seconds or less - one second per chord. They are 4-note chords -- the root, 3rd, 5th -- just like a major chord, but you also add the 6th degree of the scale to the major triad.
In other words, when we move from the C chord to the F chord, we often use C7 between the two as a "connector". It's just like the 11th chord, except you move your little finger up from the 5th of the chord to the 13th -- same as the 6th, except the chord includes the 7th, 9th, and 11th.
Then go through all the 12 minor chords, inverting each one up and down the keyboard -- hands alone, then hands together. They are shown in root position above, but you know that you can turn them upside down 'till the cows come home -- invert them -- so go to it! You ought to -- I know we're going slowly, but chords are SO important that you absolutely MUST master them if you are ever going to play the piano like you hope to! Tell them the song will sound prettier if they play it up high on the piano, so that it does sound "more like bells".
I've already printed several for my children, including the Pretty Little Horses TAB and Carol of the Bells for piano.

For all the reasons you explain on the site itself--this is exactly what piano teachers need!
We take your privacy (and ours) very seriously, so we don't want anyone receiving our stuff who doesn't want it! I have had many private students over the years who could play them all in as little as 5 seconds -- one little gal (she was about 12 at the time) had particularly fast hands, and could play them in - believe it or not - 3 seconds!  I have slow hands with fat fingers, and yet I can play them in something like 5 or 6 seconds.
The 6th is ALWAYS one whole step above the 5th -- never a half step --  so they are real easy to find. Then go through all 12 diminished chords, inverting each one up and down the keyboard -- each hand alone, then together. Then add the secondary chordsAfter a week or so like this, you can start adding in the "G pinch" chord (the G7 made with the f & g, using the 2 &1 fingers of the left hand) and the "little F" chord (f & a, again with the 2 & 1 fingers of the left hand). I am a piano teacher in New Orleans, LA and in the process of putting together my own curriculum and recordings. So, depending on their familiarity with chords, you might be better off with a plain sheet. The G pinch chord is easy, especially after playing Mary Had a Little Lamb, but beginners have a hard time with the Little F chord, because it necessitates the stretch of the thumb. Or, start in the very first week asking THEM to play the chords for YOUR right-hand melody. Sometimes, after a struggle, I just let young pianists substitute the G7 chord for the F chords, and we come back to the F chord later.Have fun with this well-loved Christmas music!
