Sheet music or music scores are hand-written or printed form of music notation that uses modern musical symbols.
When two staves are joined by a brace or is intended to be played at once by a single performer, a great stave or grand staff (as shown below) is created. Now that we know which letter corresponds to which line or space on both the treble and bass staffs, the next thing to do is to find the middle C on the grand staff. The image below shows how the notes on the lines and spaces of the grand staff corresponds to the white keys on the piano's keyboard. There are 2 music pieces you can practice below so that you can familiarize yourself with the piano and the note placement on the grand staff. In this lesson, we are also going to learn how to play an OCTAVE, an eight note combination of the same letter name.
Here are two illustrations to show you how Middle C looks when it is written on the stave: The first diagram is of the Treble Clef, or G Clef- this Clef is usually used for the right hand of piano music, although, occasionally, the hands will cross over, and the right hand may use the left hand clef, or vice versa. This entry was posted in Bass Clef and Treble Clef, Learning to Read Music, Piano Lessons for Beginners and tagged bass clef, C, D, E, how to play the piano, keyboard, keyboard music, Learning the notes, learning to read music, middle C, music sheet, notated on the stave, notation, octaves, piano, piano lessons, play the octave, practice the piano, stave, the notes on the piano, treble clef. I love the class, it is very helpful and i would love to commend the originators of this lesson, they have done a lot to teach us whom are just starting to learn the piano.
I would like to have more notes from the beginning i.e, what is treble clef and base clef and how to read the notes. Please can you explain to me what the treble clef is all about and how the various notes are denoted on the treble clef . My name is Bianca Tremelo. I am a qualified piano and theory teacher with many years experience, both as a teacher and as a performer. Learning to read standard mciusal notation is lots easier than it looks. The basics are very simple. He had always had a passion to learn to play an instrument, and it didn’t matter that he had begun so late in life. I have recently started going for keyboard classes in order to learn to play the electronic keyboard .
I think it is best to thoroughly learn all the chords in their root position before going on to invert them.
You will note that the chords on the first degree, the fourth and the fifth are the only major chords. Major, Minor, Minor, Major, Major, Minor, Diminished is the order of the chords in any Major key. I’ve been dreaming bout learning to play the piano or even just the keyboard since i was like eight and now i’m sixteen and still, all i could play is doremifasolatidooooo~!

Actually when someone doesn’t know afterward its up to other viewers that they will help, so here it takes place.
The different note symbols mean different time lengths, so we need to specify a way of counting each of them.
Eighth notes are typically counted “1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and” in order to indicate the additional notes in between the background beats. The audio file MP3 has me playing the notes on the piano in one stereo channel and me counting the rhythmic values in the other channel.
This piano tutorial is a bit harder then the other piano tutorials and that's because it is ment for piano solo. In the second part the left hand will take the part of accompanying and the right hand will play the melody.
For the piano, the upper staff is played with the right hand and the lower staff with the left hand. The reason it can be called the F-clef is because the start of the clef is placed on the 4th staff line (the lines are counted from the bottom to the top).
You will now be able to look at music pieces and be able to tell the white key you should play by looking at where the note is placed on the grand staff. The first thing is to get familiar with the names of the notes and to learn where the notes are on the piano.
It is a white note, remember, which lies directly to the left of the set of two black notes.  Now, I want you to  find middle C  on your keyboard, on your own.
Use the right hand to play a C above middle C, and use the left hand to play a C below middle C.
E lies directly to the RIGHT side of the group of two black notes.  Do the same exercise as before. I am very interested in taking some piano lessons, but, I first want to know how far I can possibly go. You'll be playing the melody in the right hand with and extre voice and the bass in the left hand in the first part. Each line and space stands for a certain pitch or note, and is given a letter A, B, C, D, E, F, or G. The clefs will tell you which hand to use to play the music as well as assign individual notes to certain lines and spaces. A ledger line is a small line that extends above and below the staff when we run out of room. Remember the treble clef indicates that you should play the notes with your right hand while the bass clef indicates the notes should be played with your left hand.

We will see where these lie on the keyboard, and we will show you how these are notated on the stave, or how they look on a music sheet, in other words.
This is easier to identify if you have a real, full length piano, and that is why middle C has gotten its name – because it lies at the center of the piano keyboard. You will know if you hit a note which is not a D, as it won’t blend nicely, which the octave always does on a well tuned instrument. The more you get used to reading and understanding where these notes are on the keyboard, the quicker your sight reading will become. If you follow my simple instructions carefully, and work hard, putting in a little practice every day, then you will learn how to play the piano with grace and agility. Sheet music can be used as a record of, a guide to, or a means to perform, a piece of music. You will notice that these are the same 7 letters that correspond to certain white keys on the piano's keyboard (refer to the lesson 'Layout of the Piano' for this.). The notes on the lines forms the sentence: Every Good Boy Does Fine or Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge. The image below shows us where middle C is located on a ledger line on the treble and bass staffs. You might even be able to reach an OCTAVE with one hand: this is when you play the same note together, eight notes apart.
It simply takes some practice. One thing you may get hung-up on, is that most pitches (notes) can be played in more thanone place on a guitar fingerboard.
Comprehending sheet music requires a special form of literacy that is the ability to read musical notation. The first letter of each word corresponds to the notes on each line or space, starting from the bottom going up. Take the 1st E , above middle C, for example:This same pitch can be played at 5 different places. See how they blend in with each other: because they are they same note, but on a different wave length. This layout is where the different musical symbols are placed on to tell you what notes to play, for how long and more.
