The first round of this exercise we will be using certain positions and the second round will be using other chord positions.
For example, the first time that it is played, to get from the C chord in the root position to the F chord in the 2 inversion, just move fingers 3 and 5 (notes E and G).
The thumbs are finger 1, the index fingers are finger 2, the middle fingers are finger 3, the ring fingers are finger 4 and the pinky fingers are finger 5.


These are like little fragments of a song; basically the harmonic structure, without a defined melody.

After you practice the chord progression various times, try to play it using different chord inversions. Your hands will start to get used to forming the chords, almost automatically, and your eyes will be able to visualize the chords rather quickly. At the beginning, this may feel a bit tedious, but with frequent practice you will be able to visualize the chords all over the keyboard without even having to think about which notes make up each chord.
