This oil painting, entitled The Boy Mozart, was done in 1763, possibly by Pietro Antonio Lorenzoni (1721-1782), on commission from Wolfgang's father, Leopold.
Portrait of Mozart wearing the Order of the Golden Spur that he received in 1770 in Rome from Pope Clement XIV. This portrait of Constanze was painted in 1782 by her brother-in-law Joseph Lange (1751-1831). Drawing of Mozart made by Dora Stock during Mozart's visit to Dresden, Germany, in April 1789. Artists have long been attempting to evoke the charm, spectacle and genius of the child prodigy Mozart playing to the royals of Europe, and this painting is one of many fictional depictions of Mozart being presented in a royal audience to the Empress Maria Theresa.
A scene from Mozart's opera Don Giovanni, as depicted on a postage stamp issued by Monaco in 1987 on the occasion of the bicentennial anniversary of the writing of that opera. Two scenes from Mozart's opera, Don Giovanni, are depicted on this postage stamp issued by San Marino in 1999. The full title of the opera -- Il dissoluto punito, ossia il Don Giovanni (in English: The Rake Punished, or Don Giovanni) -- is suggested by the Italian wording on this stamp.
A scene from Mozart's opera, The Magic Flute, is shown on this stamp issued by Hungary in 1967. Images of Mozart, of Papageno the birdcatcher (a character from Mozart's opera, The Magic Flute), and of an early Vienna flyer and some bars of music from the same opera.

These all appear on the above postal item issued by Germany in 1991 to mark the 200th anniversary since the death of the composer. This stamp (issued by the Vatican City in 2006 to mark the 250th anniversary of the birth of Mozart) depicts an image of the composer taken from the portrait painted by Barbara Krafft in 1819 (see first image on the page). In the background you can see a copy of a original manuscript of the music score of Requiem - Exultate, Jubilate - Alleluia, composed by Mozart in Milan, Italy, in 1773.
Note: This picture gallery page includes drawings, paintings, photos and images of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, his music, activities, friends and family, and the various places where the composer lived and wrote. We bought these duets so that my daughter (a student of trumpet) and I (flute) could play duets together. Mozart music includes many concertos, symphonies (such as the Jupiter), serenades (such as Eine kleine Nachtmusik); operas (such as The Marriage of Figaro and Don Giovanni), and much church music (such as the Coronation Mass).

According to Otto Erich Deutsch in his Mozart: A Documentary Biography (1965), Krafft was commissioned in 1819 by Joseph Sonnleithner to paint this portrait, long after the composer had died. It is a copy, made in Salzburg, of an original (now lost) painting done for Padre Martini of Bologna, Italy, who had commissioned it for his gallery of composers. We were so excited to have music to play for this strange combination that we started to play as soon as we printed the music. Between the different pieces there is not too much variation, but sufficient to not make them sound alike.
Thus, although the above portrait is posthumous, it was painted after some serious research by the artist. The painting may now be seen in the Museo internazionale e biblioteca della musica, Bologna, Italy.
