All instruments in our catalogs and on our shopping site carry the manufacturers' warranties against defects in parts and workmanship. We will be glad to help facilitate the repair or replacement as specified by the manufacturer.
All warranties, stated or implied are held with the product manufacturer and they vary from item to item. But I’ve been rethinking the nature of this exercise.  Whenever my students play the above exercise, I think it’s missing something – something special.
It’s harder than it looks.  The challenge is to play music, to make it sound good and to play from the heart.  They’re allowed to take melodic and phrasing liberties, but that’s it! I record their performances and after listening to them, I ask: How can you make it sound better?  Then we discuss tone, feel, balance, phrasing, lyrics, meaning, life and more! Most importantly, we establish that music is greater than hip sounding voicings.  Only then do we start adding notes and crafting an arrangement, with music and musicality being the primary focus. What happens, I believe, is that people become accustomed to some sounds and thereafter, for those who became accustomed, or indoctrinated, they believe the sounds to be musical just to be hip.
Just before we get into learning three note voicings (which is our goal in this lesson), let’s talk about voicing. There are so many voicing techniques that chords can be rearranged with, but we are looking at three-note voicing technique in this post, which is a sequel to what we covered previously on the skeleton voicing technique. Today, we are exploring three note voicings of three [out of the five] common seventh chord qualities. It is not possible to voice ninth chords using the skeleton voicing technique because the skeleton voicing technique is basically connected to the third and seventh tones and therefore does not include the ninth tone. Voicing a ninth chord with the skeleton voicing technique produces a ninth chord with a missing extension and trust me, that’s no ninth chord at all.
These three-note voicings of ninth chords can be heard in a variety of music genres – especially jazz and gospel music and this makes them important. The 2-5-1 chord progression in the key of C major is between the D minor ninth, G dominant thirteenth and C major ninth chords. Did you noticed the use of the three note voicing of the dominant thirteenth chord as chord five? I tried to order the free trial of song tutor but i have not received your response in my email.

Make a wish list for gifts, suggest standard repertoire, let students know which books to buy, boast about pieces you've mastered: Music Lists are as unique as the musician! You could also play the fundamental with the left and the chord with the right hand to learn to harmonize the melody or to accompany a singer or another musician.
Study all these progressions of II-V-I in major key and practice to play them on famous jazz standards.

Remember the most important notes of a chord are the third one and the seventh one that determine the mode (major or minor) and the type of chord.
In music and art the complexity is generally synonym of ugliness, unnatural, difficulty of understanding. For example, I do not like the sound of the sixth on the dominant seventh chord and I do not often use it, replacing it with the fifth or omitting both the sixth one and the fifth. Besides you can often omit the fifth on the minor and major seventh chords, the fifth or the ninth in dominant seventh chords. I will publish soon in another pages half diminished ,diminished seventh and altered chord voicings.
Every musician should have a basic understanding of how and why pianists voice chords in certain ways. 1 "How To Play and Improvise" - featuring Jamey Aebersold from the World’s most popular improv method.
The manufacturer will determine whether the defect is covered under their warranty; we do not make that determination. Also, if a school, school district, or board of education purchases an instrument and resells it to an individual, the manufacturer considers the warranty to be void. Consult the documentation that came with your product for details in addition to the information below. The top voice in the RH plays the melody, the bottom voice in the LH plays roots and the rest of the fingers fill in the chord.
While the musical theory describes a space of sound, the sounds that are musical will only partially overlap that space, and as Einstein pointed out, Nature is under no obligation whatsoever to to follow our mathematics. Potentially, any one of the LH 4-note voices can move and yet still take care of it’s role in the arrangement while creating interesting lines that can enhance and intensify a performance.
Although these notes can be played on the keyboard, they can also be considered to be voices or voice parts. But when we go beyond keyboard style chords to delve into arrangements where the tones of a chord are considered as voices [or voice parts], then we’ve started voicing chords.
We’ll be looking at three-note voicings of the major ninth, the minor ninth, and the dominant ninth chords.
Let me show you step-by-step, how to voice ninth chords using three notes in subsequent segments.
One of the variety of ways we can apply three note voicings, is to the 2-5-1 chord progression.
Keep in mind the chord of the left hand must be played as near as around the central C(C4) and it has to contain the central C inside (in virtual way, if the C does not belong to the chord), to avoid cacophony. Certainly there are also other chords besides minor seventh, dominant seventh or major seventh: in another pages I will treat about the half diminished, diminished and altered seventh chord voicings (with augmented fifth and ninth or minor ninth). Therefore you should never miss these two notes in the chord, except if, for example, you need to play a sus4 chord: in this case the third is omitted leaving the place to the fourth note.
So you do not need to exaggerate in the use of dissonances inside chords, even if you are playing some modern jazz.

This book, designed by a horn player, addresses and explains the basics of authentic, hip sounding chord voicings in simple, non-pianistic language. Every note is written exactly as played by Jamey Aebersold with chord symbols, passing chords, pedal markings, etc.
After 15 give yourself another very specific thing to do: ie- 2 part harmony in another key or add on a 3rd voice, etc.
Inspired by my role model Jermaine Griggs, I started teaching musicians in my neighborhood in April 2005.
They are chords that derive above all from Bill Evan’s voicings in which the ninth is added into the minor seventh chord, the sixth and the ninth into the dominant seventh chord. It creates a kind of meditational effect and the player is made aware of just how the notes are decaying as they’re held. Today, I'm privileged to work as a music consultant and content creator with HearandPlay Music Group sharing what I know with thousands of musicians across the world. Includes written voicings over many of the most popular Aebersold play-a-long tracks (including 11 tracks from Volume 54 "Maiden Voyage"), so you can comp with bass and drums backing you up!
You really have to think about melody, tone and phrasing and being connected to the sound and all the important things, because after about 3 minutes you’ve already exhausted all your stock licks!
Here, as never before, is an opportunity to see REAL jazz piano voicings and comping over REAL songs in REAL live musical settings.
These historic books contain NOTE-FOR-NOTE transcriptions, exactly as recorded, of the exciting piano accompaniment from the World Famous Aebersold Play-A-Long series. He started off with strong quarter note emphasis (very labored) and proceeded on to half notes etc. 1 "How To Play and Improvise" - featuring Jamey Aebersold from the World's most popular improv method.
