The 2013 Long Term Care Questionnaire conducted by the Department of Health, Bureau of Health Statistics and Research, was mailed to facilities on February 28, 2014. The questions have been revised and added to the Long Term Care Questionnaire that you are required to complete annually by April 15th. Serving Pennsylvania, Philadelphia PA, Pittsburgh, Harrisburg, Allentown, Erie, Reading, Scranton, Bethlehem, Lancaster & beyond. Face-to-face and independent study options are available depending on the needs of the audience. The conference on pain brings together experts from around the country to explore issues related to pain management using current, evidence-based practice. This program will meet the State of Michigan requirement for 1.0 contact hour of Clinical Nursing Education (CNE) in pain management. In ASL, the hands communicate by forming signs, which have meaning just like spoken words in English. Utilizing the expertise of our faculty and its resources, program topics are developed based on learner needs. Topics are aligned with current practice initiatives and the needs expressed by learners who participate. Topics for Grand Rounds include geriatric, nursing, pharmacy, oral health, psychiatry and special topics. Students admitted to College of Nursing fall programs for RN-BSN, MSN-CNS and NP tracts, and DNP and PhD are invited to attend. The focus of the pain presentation is aligned with the needs of learners who are members of Alpha Psi Chapter. Designed by peers, the quarterly meeting presentations provide continuing nursing education contact hours through a joint provider agreement with the MSU College of Nursing Continuing Education.


The Provider Unit serves as a conduit to community and health system partners for quality CNE offerings. This proposed rule would adopt the 2012 edition of the Life Safety Code (LSC), National Fire Protection Association, (NFPA) 101. The due date for completion of the Questionnaire is only 2 weeks away (due April 15, 2014).

The course also provides valuable information and insights for communicating with deaf and hearing impaired individuals. These sessions are one hour in length, often provided during the lunch hour to facilitate attendance by busy practitioners.Topics center on current evidence based practice guidelines and interventions for advanced practice providers caring for individuals with multiple complex, chronic health conditions. The MSU College of Nursing provides content experts in education, practice and research as well as continuing nursing education contact hours for sessions that are applicable to nursing through the planning process for each event.
The content has been arranged to facilitate success in online programs and highlight the support of the College of Nursing and the University in the educational journey. This session is open to all registered nurses regardless of Chapter membership or faculty status in the College of Nursing. Topics at the quarterly meetings address issues of case management practice aligned with the needs of this group of professionals. The intent of the dementia care focused survey is to document dementia care practices in nursing homes. It provides an overview of the tools and process improvements and describes the implementation process.
The webinar, developed for nurses and staff educators in long-term care facilities, will feature effective engagement strategies to train staff to recognize and report changes in a nursing home resident's condition. This program complies with the RN licensure renewal requirement in the state of Michigan and provides 1.33 contact hour of CNE in pain and pain symptom management.
Participants are eligible for 5.0 contact hours of CNE for the face to face workshop, and additional contact hours for completed homework. We appreciate your input as we develop programs and educational offerings to benefit professional nurses. The intent of the MDS focused survey is to document MDS 3.0 coding practices and associated care planning in facilities. Faculty are available to provide support throughout the process of completing workshop requirements. By participating as an active member on planning committees, the nurse planner of the College of Nursing Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) Provider Unit plays a key role in determining learner needs, developing evidence based content, securing quality, currently relevant speakers and adhering to the guidelines of CNE. Training: CMS will provide training for those States participating in the focused reviews via webinar. This training will be mandatory for those State Survey Agency (SA) staff conducting reviews as well as one manager or trainer within the SA. Enforcement Implications: Deficient practices noted during the survey will result in relevant citations.
