Today, Jane’s work revolves around inspiring action on behalf of endangered species, particularly chimpanzees, and encouraging people to do their part to make the world a better place for people, animals, and the environment we all share. Jane Goodall was the first to discover that wild chimpanzees were capable of making and using tools, a revelation that turned the scientific world upside down. 60 Minutes goes with Jane Goodall back to the Gombe Forest in Tanzania for an intimate look at her chimpanzees.
A simple way of remembering the difference is this: though every Latino is a Hispanic, not every Hispanic is a Latino. And now I’m ready to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with some of my favorite books for kids! How about you? National Hispanic Heritage Month is the period from September 15 to October 15 in the United States, when people recognize the contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans to the United States and celebrate the group’s heritage and culture. Margarita Engle in Orangutaka tells us that Orangutans are critically endangered because their forests are being logged to plant oil palms. Now that summer is here and it’s easier to get the kids outdoors, I wanted to share some great non-fiction books to introduce kids to Zoology.
I am probably having way too much fun on Flipagram making small videos set to music off my iPhone which can be posted on Instagram, YouTube, Facebook or even texted or emailed to friends and family. Christina TJune 30, 2015 at 8:24 AMI almost put both Saint Anything and The Royal We on my list. Now we have several hundred more, some of which are featured in this collection, gathered and recorded by the Grimms’ favorite folklorist. Written in perfectly clipped sentences, it’s a first-rate example of the novel-as-rant.
Victory left Mark Hughes’s men level on points with Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur. This story has her trademark sense of humor combined with a quirky family and some bigger issues. I don’t often wish I could jump in the world of a contemporary book, but this is the one book I would love to live in.
But of course, I told my friends and family about this incredible new paranormal fantasy that’s set in NYC and the New York Public Library! You can tell there is so much in store for the rest of the series, and I appreciate knowing Meadows is an author I can trust to surprise, frighten and delight me.
What I got was a story that surprised me with its focus on great friendships and in recovering from loss.
Either that or she just loves to torture her readers with clever plots and twisty maneuvers. Other interests include Downton Abbey, heat lightning storms, Harry Potter land and (begrudingly) one orange tabby.
Her novel in verse just came out, a stunning perspective of the accomplishments of the Tuskegee Airmen during Jim Crow WWII America. But it also curtailed training and leadership opportunities for African Americans, both male and female.

Zoology is the study of animals making it perfect for kids who naturally gravitate to animals, pet stores, and zoos. They study the physical characteristics of animals, animal behaviors, and the impacts humans have on wildlife and natural habitats. Here's a combination of some of the best adult novels, young adult novels and some older novels that I've read this year. Vendetta by Catherine Doyle - I loved this YA debut that was a combination of The Godfather and Romeo and Juliet. The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins - This is a suspenseful read and although I didn't enjoy it as much as Gone Girl, I still thought it was an edge-of-your-seat thriller. Found in municipal archive in German, von Schonwerth’s tales include all the favorites: Mermen, turnip princesses, and more. Funny, mean, brusque, but always alive, After Birth evokes a radical past and points to a better future for American fiction. The idea of parallel Londons was an exciting idea that was executed in a way that was clear and so intriguing.
Han has this perfect way of adding sweetness to heartbreak and knows how to temper sad moments with hope. This is a family endeavor, the dramatic scratch board illustrations are by her son, Jeffrey Boston Weatherford. In reading these children’s books, it’s a relief to find that there are simple choices you and I can make every single day to help save the rain forests!
I Still Love You by Jenny Han - Jenny Han can do no wrong and her books are perfect for summertime. I need to check out Sarah Maas's other series after loving A Court of Thorns and Roses. These are important stories that haven’t received the attention they deserve and if kids are aware of the mistakes made by their elders in the past, perhaps this is our best hope they will not be repeated in the future. I really, really, really want to read The Nightingale, The Royal We & The Summer After You and Me! I have The Girl on the Train on hold at the library, and I can't wait for it to come in!
