Despite our efforts to provide full and correct Nokia Asha 311 specifications, there is always a possibility of making a mistake. If you are interested in using our specs commercially, check out our Phone specs database licensing page. The Asha 501 is a really good device with Fastlane making the work easier but when you look at the app ecosystem, the Asha 501 is clearly at a disadvantage. In the end of the day Nokia Asha 501 brings a number of features on a bargain price, which combined with its fresh look and solid build quality is bound to attract a large number of customers on a tight budget.
If it's given a suitably low price, the Asha 501 will fulfil the role of a very basic smartphone. Though it is a budget level phone, it aims to deliver the experience and features available in the large screen smartphone device.
The Nokia Asha 501 is a fantastic package for its cost, offering a unique and at the same time, a high quality user experience; something which is difficult to get in this price range. The phones pack in all the essentials needed in a device from this category and little else but that works out well here. Nokia has been dabbling with touchscreens on S40 phones for a while now so it was only a matter of time they released a phone with a full touchscreen. The phones, Nokia 311 and 305, were first spotted on a Chinese forum being placed next to rulers. There are also pictures of the user manual that uses cartoons to explain the various functions of the phone. Nokia has cleverly designed the C3 to look and feel like a device from the business-friendly Eseries, altering the interface of the Series 40 platform.- Daniel P. Moreover, Nokia has cleverly designed the C3 to look and feel like a device from the business-friendly Eseries, altering the interface of the Series 40 platform. The only thing that worries me about this phone is damaging the keypad from hitting it against something accidentally, and the paint wearing off the keys too early. So to rate this phone, I'm giving the design high marks for how it compares to other fixed keypad phones.
Performance so far is great, the battery is still showing 3 bars after charging it last friday and it is now Tuesday, mind you I haven't used wifi or video. Features will be a bit lower simply because the menu structure is tricky to understand at first, and there's really only so much you can do with a phone like this (basic apps, OVI browser?).
New Nokia C1 leaked photos show first Android-equipped phablets; Is it time to re-enter phone market, build own OS? After selling out to Microsoft, Nokia is believed to re-enter to the smartphones industry as leaked images of its controversial first Android-powered phablet Nokia C1 surface. The claim of Nokia finding its way back to making phones is recently backed up by leaked photos from Chinese sources posted on Twitter.
The leaked images also showed the Nokia C1 running on a modified version of Android Lollipop with its own Z launcher.
Nokia is presumed to work with a third-party manufacturer called Foxconn in producing the Nokia C1.

Although the company first denies making a second entrance to the smartphone market, CEO Rjeev Suri says otherwise. G for Games reports that Nokia is supposed to also have plans in building its own OS, according to Berstein Research analyst Pierre Ferragu. Since Nokia's brand name is known almost everywhere, the company's re-entry to the phone market may become a success. Based on 4 reviewsHow rating worksOne might mistake Nokia for a chocolate company with all the candy bar phones they’ve produced over the years! While a good-looking phone, it also has a familiar layout, with a 2 inch, 240 x 144 pixel resolution display resting atop a proven navigation array, followed by an alpha-numeric keypad. After getting a little bit bored by the XpressMusic series, I'm finally glad that I gave 5130 model a chance. The previous Nokia competitor in this category was the 5220 XpressMusic, which we duly reviewed.
The former usually features a light source and liquid crystals, while the latter is based on organic light-emitting diodes. J2ME consists of programming specifications and a special virtual machine, the K Virtual Machine, that allows a J2ME-encoded program to run in the mobile device. An external, MicroSD, MicroSDHC (up to 32 GB) expansion slot is available for increased storage capacity.
For all of its shortcomings, camera and Web browsing included, the Nokia Asha 501 is an impressive package for anyone on a budget.
As low as that sounds, at this price there is already a number of Android device like the Samsung Galaxy Pocket with better functionality. One of the biggest drawback is the lack of Whatsapp and although it is coming soon, the app is already available on many competitive devices.
At this point though, it's flying way too close to smartphone territory to be comfortable - it's up to Nokia to fix that with a price cut and set things right. If we consider the price of the device and the features that it brings, it is overall a very good deal. For those looking to buy a feature phone that delivers a smartphone-like experience, the Nokia Asha 501 is a decent package. This phone is ideally meant for the first time mobile web users with minimal usage, students and great second phone for calling, texting and social networking.
The 501 works brilliantly well as a communications tool with a sprinkling of multimedia functionality added in. Here we can see the N9-Harmattan style UI that relies on side swipes to move between different screens. An external, MicroSD (up to 8 GB) expansion slot is available for increased storage capacity. If only it had managed to cram a bit better optics for the camera, we'd go so far as to say Nokia will sell a boatload of the C3. Even though I have a crush on Nokia's Eseries, do not consider my opinion biased when I say that C3 is one of the best low-budget phones on the market.
Its keyboard is excellent, it has a good range of social-networking features and its battery life isn't bad.
At first glance it's a sexy phone with the shiny front face and matte back plate, feels like a quality peice in your hand.

There are rumors regarding Nokia's partnership with Foxconn to market the new device, along with its plans to create its own operating system (OS). The acquisition contract between the two companies restricts Nokia from making and selling smartphones until 2016. According to the International Business Times, two images showed the device close-up, revealing the rumored Nokia C1 phone to be mid-range level. The C1 phone looked physically similar to the company's N1 tablet released in 2014 which also ran on Android. Nokia will license the design to Foxconn who will be chiefly responsible to create and sell the phone as reported by Opptrends.
Knowing that it would be hard to match up to the contemporary phone giants, Nokia plans to target the second-tier phone market especially in less-developed countries. Ferragu is skeptic about Nokia entering this market long dominated by Apple's iOS and Google's Android as well as Windows and Blackberry OS.

It’s simple and easy to use.Show moreThe Nokia 5130 offers one-touch, quick access to music, a flagship feature of their Xpressmusic line. An external, MicroSD (up to 2 GB) expansion slot is available for increased storage capacity. The remarkable audio quality and that extra bit of style should be more than enough for your money in any basic S40 package with a music slant. The interface feels modern and trendy, but also accessible enough that even my parents could use it without being overwhelmed. If you want the most apps and possibilities, an affordable Android phone would be a much better fit. One thing that surprised us was that both the SIM slots supported Micro-SIM, which may be an inconvenience for some. The 311 seems to be the more expensive of the two and has a slightly more premium look to it than the very bland looking 305.
Among things worth noting is a 3.2 megapixel camera on the back with no flash but a camera shutter button on the side. With no 3G and a small, low-def screen, the Nokia C3 just isn't cut out for surfing the web or social networking. What will be the profit margin on this handset, is a totally different story. We are hard pressed to find anything in the Nokia C3's price range as an alternative. Of course, tastes may differ, but if you're on for a cheap phone with QWERTY keyboard and Wi-Fi, then this is the device you want.
However, Nokia has found a breach in the contract and formed its strategy of licensing its designs to third-party manufacturers who will produce the device.
Ferragu further stipulates the possibility of Nokia being in the lead of budget phones due to its wide brand reach. Still, if done right, Nokia might convince LG and Samsung to ditch Google for their OS instead. Still, you have to appreciate the effort Nokia has put into making the Asha 501 a fun and easy to use device. Excellent battery life, A matured App ecosystem, User Experience which makes it a joy to use, I find it difficult to criticize the phone all aspects considered.
For a Benjamin more you enter a whole category of QWERTY smartphones – the Nokia Eseries, Blackberrys, Samsung QWERTY phones, etc. As for camera specifications, the Nokia C1 will sport an 8 MP camera at the back, and a 5 MP selfie snapper at the front. It has the same price and similar features and that's a good enough reason for the 5130 to set its hopes high. The cellphone produces excellent sound quality as long as you buy a decent headset to listen to the music. The vibrant colors and interchangeable back covers, the dual SIM option and the swipe-based interface all come together for a nice experience and the addition of Nokia’s HERE maps is a welcome bonus. If at all, I wish it had a larger screen, simply because the Asha 5xx platform deserves more and can pull it off as well! Also, one of the most important things, Nokia 5130 XpressMusic can be bought for a decent price, while it offers excellent features. The BadI would've liked to see a more decent camera and the possibility to add a better memory card. In my opinion, the simplicity, attractiveness, and price of the Nokia 5130 XpressMusic phone makes this a pretty good phone. As of today, the Nokia Asha 501 is going to be my recommendation to people looking for a phone in this price range or those who are looking for a secondary phone.
Even though some higher-capacity cards might work with the device, it doesn't officially offer support for these.
Maybe the Samsung CorbyTXT B3210 (aka Samsung Genio QWERTY) will do the trick with its even lower price, if you can live sans the Wi-Fi, otherwise the price is very right on the Nokia C3 to be your basic messaging phone that you can use for social networking deeds as well. I also think that the short microUSB cable that comes with the phone is a joke, as you can only use it while keeping your handset near the USB port.
