Most days I did really well sticking to the meals Weight Watchers had listed in their Simple Start booklet. Sometimes I think they smell good, but I haven’t been able to bring myself to eat them in years! I was on WW a few years ago, but I find I have more success when I just cut carbs and eat whole foods. I’ve never tried Weight Watchers but I have friends who do Weight Watchers religiously and they always have great results. I’m going back on Weight Watchers, using the Simply Filling program, which a) works and b) is awesome for people like me, who somewhere along the way just get flat out resentful and tired of having to count the points of every little thing I eat. If you eat foods that are outside the approved list (booze, butter, real cheese and anything chocolate), then you just count it against your 49 free weekly points you get to enjoy those types of foods.

I am notorious for picking, cleaning up is just another opportunity for me to put more food in my mouth.
This might seem silly but it is my best trick because I won’t eat anything with toothpaste taste in my mouth.

Give the food suggestions a try that I mentioned in this post and you should be on the right track for the first couple weeks. I thought I had just killed my whole day, but the next day I realized I was still losing weight. I count calories and try to stay within my ‘goals’ for fat, sodium, carbs, etc, and it helps me lose weight! Just kidding, nope, that was me just a few days ago, after the December HOLIDAZE and month before of new love LaLaLand caught up to me and suctioned a spare tire to the body that just over the summer had been the least of me anyone’s seen in QUITE awhile. There’s protein, grains, fruits, veggies, light breads, and ooo, frankencheese, also known as fat free cheese, of which the only remotely acceptable kinds are cottage, cream and ricotta.
You can eat as much as you want, but they have to be power foods, meaning whole foods. Below is a list of foods that you can have during this 2 week start. There are loads of dairy free snack ideas- fruit salad, jello topped with berries, popcorn, veggies with salsa, plus any of the pre portioned 100 calorie snack packs are a good idea for portion control. I keep weight watchers ice cream on hand when I want some sweets, and protein brownies or bars.
And if you have vegetables that need to be prepped for meals, feel free to prep and store those on the weekend, so you’re not having to spend so much time on a weeknight cutting vegetables.
Oh, and remember when I used to get 10,000 steps everyday, obsessively, with my Fitbit for over a year and a half EVERY DAY?! In addition to the list, you have 49 (or 7 per day) free points you can use on whatever you like.
Some of it water weight (hahaha, we all know better), some of it Homemade Portillo’s Chocolate Cake, most of it just an ocean of booze and fields of Christmas cookies.
I stopped doing that, and it was shockingly easy to just sit around and eat instead of side step like a lunatic while having conversations with people while checking my Fitbit every two seconds. It should be easier since summer is here – and I have more access to fresh fruits and vegetables!
