The Paleo Diet - Robb Wolf on Paleolithic nutrition, intermittent fasting, and fitnessWhat’s Paleo?
It’s a brand new, 70-page interactive downloadable guide that shows you how to make healthy Paleo meals for yourself and your family while saving time and money. Categories: AnnouncementsRobb Wolf’s 30 Day Paleo TransformationHave you heard about the Paleo diet and were curious about how to get started?
Speaking to this book specifically, we put it together because we’ve received literally hundreds of questions about shopping on a budget and hundreds of requests for more information and resources about eating paleo without breaking the bank. I appreciate the newly organized blog posts and the revamped getting started with Paleo section. Hi Robb, I see your point about needing a look that will go down well with established organizations. Get your FREE Paleo Quick Start Guide, plus my free 24-part email series on healthy eating and living. With Robb’s unique perspective as both scientist and coach you will learn how simple nutrition, exercise and lifestyle changes can radically change your appearance and health for the better.
ROBB WOLF, author of The Paleo Solution, is a former research biochemist and one of the world’s leading experts in Paleolithic nutrition. Of course, a lot has changed since then, and the modern diet is loaded with preservatives and other obscure chemicals.
After the first few weeks Paleo, many experience weight loss, more energy than they ever have before, and many other benefits that come with eating real, nourishing food. The Paleo diet emphasizes clean eating, removing processed, unnatural foods and replacing them with whole ones. There’s no one-size-fits-all fitness regimen particular to the Paleo lifestyle, but it does recommend incorporating movement into parts of your everyday life. Inflammation, caused by damage to the lining of your digestive system, can cause increased sensitivity in your immune system.
The Paleo diet calls for an increase in the intake of protein and healthy fats compared to the typical Western diet, both of which promote satiety.
Your gut is your second brain: it houses the trillions of microbes, or gut flora, that help digest food, synthesize vitamins, boost your immune system and regulate metabolism. Fajitas, stir fries, tater tots and even cinnamon rolls—the Paleo community is full of enterprising kitchen dwellers, cooking up new Paleo-friendly ideas all the time. By eliminating filler foods like grains and legumes (which themselves slow the absorption of nutrients due to the presence of phytates), you’ll incorporate more nutrient-dense foods like vegetables, fruits, nuts and seeds into your meals.
Unlike other diets, the Paleo diet recognizes a person’s individuality—there’s no strict calorie-in, calorie-out figure that suits every individual, so why eat according to a metric? The Paleo diet encourages organic, local and seasonal eating as much as possible—not only is it better for you, but better for the environment and the farmers. If you can make the shift to eating Paleo, you’ll likely want to explore more ways you can incorporate Paleo principles into other facets of your life. The idea is that our human genome has evolved over millions of years and hasn’t really changed in the last 20,000 years or so.
So what we need to do is find foods that can replicate the diet that our ancestors ate and thus make our genes run in an optimum fashion.

If you prefer fish or seafood, go ahead and and pick up some bass, salmon, halibut, sunfish, tuna, sardines, shrimp, oysters or lobster. Here are some vegetables that we can enjoy in true caveman style; spinach, carrots, broccoli, avocado, brussels sprouts, eggplant, bell peppers and cabbage. This goes back to our caveman days; before animals were domesticated they grazed on open fields of grass.
When you are eating these meals, have a glass of water, sparkling is fine or if you prefer tea go ahead.
This is an interactive guide with links to custom-created videos, audio files, bonus reading, and more.
Or maybe you’ve been trying Paleo for a while but have questions or aren’t sure what the right exercise program is for you? I miss the old site, which felt less like attempts to sells stuff and more like attempts to just share information. As Robb said, selling books and information is how we fund all the FREE information, hours of podcasts, and hundreds of articles Robb has written about science, diet, exercise, and overall wellness. I agree with Amber, it takes a lot of folding stuff to keep the free information coming and to pay staff, as well as keeping the wolf[pun not intended]from your own door. Is that still available somewhere so that if I wanted to link to the site and use that as the graphic (instead of Robb’s mug*) I could? The colors of the new site and the unflattering picture of Robb (there are lots of better photos of him out there) make it feel a bit dreary. I commented on Facebook that you looked cool in iCaveman, but that would be even less palatable for the powers that be. Wolf has transformed the lives of tens of thousands of people around the world via his top ranked iTunes podcast and wildly popular seminar series.
That means consuming whole foods like wild vegetables, grass-fed meat and in-season fruits. So, it’s not surprising that diseases like type 2 diabetes, obesity and hyperthyroidism came with this change. You won’t have to compromise flavor for health—in fact, the more whole, nourishing foods you eat, the less you’ll crave the bad stuff. Don’t isolate your exercise to an hour at the gym each day: walk, bike, hike, swim, dance—just move, preferably outside. By removing foods that irritate this system and restoring it with foods that promote its health, the Paleo diet can contribute to a healthier gut.
The Paleo lifestyle encourages disconnecting from the bustle of the digital world and taking some time for you.
Coupled with weight lifting, the diet can target underdeveloped muscles and fat, cultivating a leaner, muscle-toned physique.
Rather than count calories, going Paleo encourages eating whole, natural foods until you’ve comfortably sated your hunger. Generally, you’re eating foods that fuel your body rather than plummet your energy levels—think eggs with spinach, bacon and salsa for breakfast, instead of a donut or pancake—leaving you with more energy to face the day. As for meat, animals should be grass-fed and pasture-raised, giving the animal a better quality of life and your meat more flavor.

You might pursue a more natural approach in cosmetics, cleaning, or even cooling your home! When she’s not dreaming up Paleo-friendly eats and conversations, you can find her covering the economy for Generation Progress. Luckily the concept of the paleolithic diet is relatively simple and making a paleo diet shopping list is a breeze if you know what you’re doing. One thing that might have crossed your mind here is that the foods our cavemen ancestors ate were radically different than what we find in our supermarkets today. With that being said we can move ahead and find some great tasting vegetables to go with our meats!
They were not kept in crowded pens and fed grains just to increase their mass, they roamed freely and ate the proper foods for their bodies. There is lots more to the diet, we have only skimmed the surface here but it is enough to get a good understanding of how to make the perfect paleo diet shopping list! So get it while it’s 25% off! Check out the complete details on the guide and buy it right here.
When she's not online, she's pursuing her other interests: yoga, traditional foods, sustainable agriculture, hiking, and knitting. We hope you’ll find all the free information we share with folks on a daily basis valuable enough to stick around for an occasional sales pitch so we can continue to provide all the good stuff!
Give folks lots of free stuff, no bs, offer optional premium items…and some people whine like they have been beat with a stick!
When you “go Paleo” you not only cut out all the toxic, processed foods that are making us sick, but you start eating real meals packed with nutrients.
This is not to say you can’t indulge, you’ll just do so with better-for-you options, like natural sweeteners low on the glycemic index, or higher-quality dark chocolate. The Paleo diet eliminates four major inflammation culprits: dairy, gluten, sugar, and alcohol. Coupled with better sleep, self-care and regular exercise, the Paleo diet can help you to cultivate a healthy headspace.
I’ve brought in other folks to do writing, I put their names on the articles instead of hiring a ghost writer to do the lions share and then slap my name on it. I will just endeavor to make as many people as possible know that they have an option in how they approach their health that is quite divergent from the standard of care.
So, we’ll keep as much of the good from the old stuff as we can, while updating things to grow into the future. So have a lot of other books already published, including Robb’s first one(from what I remember).
