I will be consuming about 150-160 grams of fat, about 50-60 grams of protein, and no more than 20 grams of net carbohydrates (meaning total carbs minus fiber) daily. My target caloric intake is 1,800 calories, which is about 400 calories less than I normally consume when I am paying absolutely no attention to calories. According to this calculator (which I like), my daily energy need is about 2,200 calories so technically I should expect to lose some weight on this diet.
As part of this diet I will regularly measure my blood glucose and ketones levels with a Precision Xtra glucometer made by Abbott.
So I will be writing more about my journey in the coming days; what I eat, how I feel, ketone and glucose levels, and any changes in weight and lean tissue.
