I find a heart rate monitor to be especially useful when I’m short on time and just need to get in a quick cardio workout. My favorite form of cardio lately is the jump rope – it’s so much harder than I remember it being!
My favorite form of cardio is always running but Insanity and Turbo Fire are pretty high on the list!!! I’m not a huge fan of cardio, so it has to be kind of disguised for me to do it haha. After last weeks foam rolling workout I went for something short and sweet, with a quick cardio workout for time. My total time was 7:01 so I plan on doing this workout in two months time to see how I am progressing.

So the basic premise of this weeks workout is to get your timer, set it for five rounds of 45s of work, 15s of rest. But I’ve heard that burpees, pushups, squats and skaters are some of the best exercises you can do when you only have a short amount of time so I always go for those!

I like the short workouts because I get nice and sweaty in a short time and I can do multiple workouts a day. Nice and soft on the feet, I’m trying to jump higher so that I can work on my double unders. I am using a 20lb kettlebell for this many reps, if it were fewer reps I might use my 30lb KB. Lie back, with arms extended and touch the floor with ball, sit up and touch the toes with the ball. If you have more than five minutes, then you’ll do this twice, three times or even more. Placing the hands on opposite shoulder keep the arms across the chest and sit into your squat.

While in the Marines, Jon learned how to shape and carve his body into one that could take constant pressure and withstand countless days overseas fighting for our country. The idea for this workout is to go for your best time, while obviously trying to keep good technique throughout. I’m focusing on doing CrossFit style swings ending with the kettlebell all the way overhead at the end.
Here’s where we do things differently, come all the way down ,chest to the floor, then push up, jump the legs in and jump up.
This workout is a great fitness test to do every 2-3 months to see how you are progressing on your fitness journey.
I’ve actually been super productive this month and I filmed ALL the workouts for the month ahead, saving myself some time!
The 45 seconds seems forever sometimes, and this is one that does seem like it’s 2 minutes instead. Jon's found out that the human body can do amazing things if you put in the work and dedicate your everyday life to living healthy. It’s been a while since I did an interval cardio workout at home so I felt this sucker right away! He intends to influence as many people as he can from his experiences and teach those people the importance of health and wellness.
I think I need to look into new editing software though as Movie Maker just isn’t cutting it anymore (not to mention it crashed today and lost me 30 minutes of editing!).
