I woke up craving pancakes for breakfast this morning, so I whipped up a two-ingredient pancake with sliced banana, almond butter, and marmalade on top.
Recently, I’ve received a number of questions about how to make these two-ingredient pancakes. To speed up the process, I mash up the banana inside the banana peel (with my hands) and then add it to a mug with my egg(s), cinnamon, vanilla extract, chia seeds, and whatever else I decide to mix in.
Lately, I’ve been using 1 banana + 2 eggs, so my pancake has a little more protein and staying power. If you’re also planning to hit the treadmill later today, here is a fun workout for you to try! The treadmill can definitely get boring, so I try to do workouts that include frequent pace changes to mix things up and keep things interesting.
That said, here’s a 30-minute running workout that alternates varying inclines with short bursts of sprinting and slower recovery periods for a seriously booty-burning session that will blast fat and keep your mind engaged.
I’ll have to give the pancake a try as I’ve been LOVING the french toast scramble so much lately!
I finally have bananas in the house– I’m going to have to try that pancake soon!
I used to live to lots of miles and long runs – now I have no patience for that anymore! My fastest mile is 6 minutes flat… I’m definitely more of a run long than run fast person!
I have been facing some major treadmill boredom lately so I will be keeping this work out in mind.
I was just looking over that workout and the speeds seem great, but running at 6.0 with a 10.0 incline? I wish I could enjoy running long distance, but I’m maxed out on boredom after the first 5 minutes.
I only really do short sprinting intervals on the treadmill at the moment as part of training….long runs are enjoyable outside but not on the treadmill ?? For so long it was all I did but then I discovered weight and HIIT training!

August 23, 2012 by Julie 67 Comments I’ve enjoyed eating quinoa for breakfast numerous times in the past.
Well, in the words of my boy Nelly, things got a little hot in here this morning and the end result was a hot bowl of high protein breakfast quinoa. I got the idea for this breakfast on Saturday after I made myself a hot bowl of steel cut oats with egg whites. I got a little excited to share my breakfast with you this morning, so let’s back up a bit to cover today’s workout. Intervals have a way of making time on the treadmill pass by quickly, so you know I’m a fan! I’ve been trying to find a few more recipes to use quinoa in – I became bored with my usuals so I will definitely have to try this! Quinoa for breakfast sounds good to me, but I don’t know if I can pull myself away from my oats. Running on a treadmill definitely has the potential to bore one to death, but using frequent intervals in your workout is a great way to mix it up!
After the warm-up (set incline to 1.0), this workout ramps up with short bursts of sprinting, alternated with slower recovery periods. The constant changing of speeds keeps your body guessing and your mind engaged, so you won’t even notice how quickly 30 minutes flies by! I wrote this post about my “secrets”? for making a perfect one, but here are a few more tips to help you get it right.
I wait until there’s a thin layer of coconut oil in my pan and then pour in my batter. Using an extra egg also helps form the pancake better, so it doesn’t stick and fall apart.

My friends at Boston Sports Club hooked me up with a free 90-day membership, so I’ll have access to a treadmill (and some fun classes) all winter long. I’ve never timed my mile, mostly because running a mile as fast as I can sounds awful! I figured I could prepare quinoa in a similar way and make a delicious hot breakfast cereal that would keep me full for hours.
Even with added sweetener and bananas I can still taste the eggs and I can’t make myself like it. I’m a newbie runner, working off a C210K app on my phone, and earlier this week, I tried just straight walking and got bored really quickly, so yesterday, I went back to the app. First, display your Bookmarks bar by clicking the "Wrench > Bookmarks > Show Bookmarks Bar" or by typing CTRL-SHIFT-B2.
See the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy (Your California Privacy Rights) for more information. It works so much better than cooking spray to prevent the pancake from sticking to the pan.
I noticed 15 mins into it that my feet were going numb, does this happen to anybody else on cardio machines? I hope you enjoy little glimpses into my life and have fun trying the sweaty workouts I frequently share and making some of my favorite recipes along the way! I run a lot and don’t notice it then, but it happens often on the elliptical or stationary bike.
