A mesomorph may be considered to be midway between ectomorphs and endomorphs and hence, display qualities from both the categories. Endomorphs are large in appearance and have a heavier fat accumulation, generally around the waist.
The body fat in an Endomorph may have a tendency to settle in the lower regions of the body, as well, earning their body the title of “pear shaped”. Since Endomorphs need to burn huge amounts of fats, they need to take more of fiber rich foods that are low in calories. In addition, it is essential to have realistic expectations from our bodies, meaning that Ectomorphs should not aspire to be a sumo wrestler and neither should an Endomorph try to look like Kate Moss.
Let's take an in depth look at one of them, the Endomorph, in order to get a better understanding of its behavior. The body of an Endomorph will be that of someone who is genetically prone to fat stores easily due to issues of metabolism, hormones and the distribution of energy. Endomorphs will sometimes have varying degrees of carb sensitivity, as well as insulin resistance.


When you are an Endomorph, and a bodybuilder especially, the most important thing you can do for yourself is to get in the gym as often as you can and work as hard as you can without overtraining. They have a larger frame than an endomorph combined with the low body fat percentage of an ectomorph.
Endomorphs are good at sports such as rugby and rowing where being bulky is beneficial, if the bulk can be moved powerfully.
Endomorphs are strongly advised to have at least one serving of fats such as coconut oil, olive oil, avocado, etc. This body type, Endomorph, generally will be stocky with a natural presence of muscle and fat stores.
What this means is, eating the same percentage of carbs as you do proteins can work against the Endormorph because it can activate the fat cells more easily.The best solution for the Endomorph is to increase the protein intake and lower the carbs. Sheldon in the 1940s classifies the human bodies into conventionally three body types: the long and lanky Ectomorphs , the naturally athletic and brawny Mesomorphs and bulky but soft looking Endomorphs.
On the advantageous side, the soft, flowing curves of an Endomorphic female, along with full hips and rounded shoulders, earn adjectives such as “voluptuous or sensual”.


Endomorphs are usually said to be "big boned" individuals and naturally heavy to some degree, usually with a large abdomen. To enhance the genetically slow metabolism of the Endomorphs, they need to divide their day’s caloric intake into 5-6 smaller meals rather than 2-3 heavy meals. However, having the body of an Endomorph is not necessarily a bad thing, nor is it a hopeless cause. However, regardless of being an Endomorph, training with weights needs to be your main focus when you are in the gym and here is why.
